Charter/rental tax not included *Add $200 refundable boat damage deposit FAQs: Junior sailors can enter the program at any age (6-18) and any skill level, and will be paired up with kids/teens of similar skill/age/interest by their instructors Some will want to participate recreationally and may occasionally race; others may pursue a dedicated race track Kids will learn boat rigging, sailing, weather, navigation, teamwork, etc. as they progress Sailors often come back year after year to grow their skills, try new boats and make new friends Tracks & Boat Progression: o Recreational: Opti->Feva->Big Boat (can move in/out of Racing track dep. on skill and interest) o Racing: Opti->Race Opti->Race Feva/Laser/420/Big Boat (can move in/out of Recreational or change boats depending on interest) **You will need to purchase your own boat or rent it for a season from our club or local business like boatlocker.com.     PARENT/SAILOR MANUAL Dear Parents and Sailors, Welcome to the LBYC Summer Sailing Program! Our goal for the summer is to instill a lifelong appreciation for sailing and yacht racing by creating an environment that promotes sportsmanship, safety, and the fun of being on the water. This manual provides valuable information on boat safety, necessary gear, daily events and much more. Please take the time to thoroughly read it with your sailor as it’s very important that rules and expectations are understood by everyone participating in our program. An agreement on the last page must be signed by each parent and sailor prior to the first day of the program. Everyone will be much better prepared for this summer’s activities after reading this manual. If you have any questions or thoughts regarding any of the following information, please don’t hesitate to ask.     RS Feva Rigging Guide v1.0 March 2012 You will need: (Usually already on the boat) Mast Boom - including rigged already on the boom – outhaul and kicking strap Traveller – the rope across the back of the boat Main sheet ratchet block – in the centre of the boat Bow line – ties the boat to the trolley Downhaul rope - also called the Cunningham Main sheet - this may also be already rigged on the boom, if not... SAFETY INFORMATION Before attempting to operate the boat, ensure that you have the appropriate experience to handle the boat safely in the anticipated sea and wind conditions Ensure that all the crew have sufficient boating experience and are familiar with emergency procedures, capsize recovery, and towing Always check the weather forecast before leaving shore, and ensure that the predicted weather and sea conditions are suitable for the boat Clothing should be suitable for the anticipated weather conditions and footwear appropriate for boating Before going afloat, all persons should be wearing a suitable buoyancy aid which should be worn at ALL time when on the water The helmsman is responsible for the safe operation of the boat The helmsman’s responsibilities include the proper preparation of the boat and safety equipment, knowledge of the boat operation, and safety of the crew 2.

After fi ve decades, our entire marina facility will be replaced. The project starts this fall and should be completed by Feb 1, 2018.
