Band Biography JJ Terre – Drums, Timbales and Vocals. JJ has played with well known talents including Joan Jett, Buddy Guy, Carlos Montoya (w John Mayall), Rickie Lee Jones and Ted Nugent. JJ furthered his musical scopes by working as an advisor to Dale Kawasaki in the A&R department of Mercury Records. He also co-produced and hosted local music shows on Arizona’s KDKB and KZRX. Jon McLerran – Guitar, Vocals and Percussion. Jon is a 26 year veteran of Arizona’s music scene and has played with local well known bands such as: Crown of Thorns, Blitzen, BlueJob and JoyRide. Jon can play anything, anywhere! His guitar style has often drawn comparisons to the soulful rock sounds of Santana. Performer Facts Troy Storm – Bass and Vocals. Troy is originally from New Mexico and has been performing with bands in Arizona since he was a teen. From Genre: Latin Rock/ classic rock to country, Blues to R&B, Troy plays it all like only a few Santana Tribute Band accomplished bass players can! Features 6 musicians and Julie Kenyon – Vocals and Percussion. Originally from Washington, Julie female lead vocalist is a seasoned professional on stage. She is a powerful and soulful singer that brings a new dimension to the music of Santana. She adds the essential latin percussion sounds that are so prominent in the music. Guillo Droing – Congas, Bongos and Percussion. “G”, as he is known in the band, is a master of his craft. G is from Puerto Rico and his knowledge of Latin percussion rhythms give Supernatural an edge to which most bands cannot lay claim. You will not believe your eyes and your ears!! "Brother Bobby" – Keys and Vocals. Bobby is from Kenosha Wisconsin and was influenced by his passion for music early on in life. Bobby’s father owned an organ and piano store, and had Bobby playing at age 9. With music performances influenced by Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson and of course Gregg Rolie, it is no surprise that Bobby plays the keys as if they were an extension of himself! .

Steve Smith Biography 2020 Steve Smith's drumming, while always decidedly modern, can best be described as a style that embodies the history of U.S. music. Originally drawn to the drums by hearing marching bands in parades as a child in his native Massachusetts, Smith began studying the drums at age nine, in 1963. After high school, Smith studied in Boston at the Berklee College of Music from 1972-76, where he had private lessons with both Gary Chaffee and Alan Dawson. His original love of rudimental parade band drumming is evident in his intricate solos. Likewise, his command of jazz, from New Orleans music, swing, big band, bebop, avant-garde to fusion, plus his rock drumming sensibilities and knowledge of rhythms from India allow him to push the boundaries of all styles to new heights. In 1976, Smith began his association with jazz-fusion by joining violinist Jean-Luc Ponty's group and recording the 1977 landmark fusion album Enigmatic Ocean. It was while touring with rocker Ronnie Montrose a year later that Smith was asked to join the popular rock band Journey which brought his playing to the attention of a rock audience. With Journey, Smith toured the world and recorded numerous successful albums including the immensely popular Escape (which includes the ubiquitous hit song “Don’t Stop Believin’”) and Frontiers, both of which garnered the band many Top 40 hits. Journey’s albums have sold in excess of 75 million copies worldwide to date. In 1985 Smith left Journey to pursue his original passion, jazz, and to continue his developing career as a session player, bandleader and educator.

Santana | Africa Speaks Carlos Santana (71) und seine diversen Bands gehören zu meiner musikalischen DNA. Die ersten drei Alben –Santana (1969), Abraxas (1970) und Santana III (1971) sowie Welcome (1972), Caravanserei (1973), Borboletta (1974) und das aus dem Jahre 2016 stammende Santana IV in nahezu Urbesetzung sind für mich unverändert aktuelle Musik, die regelmäßig auf dem Plattenteller dreht. Und die meisten der zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen auch, hinzukommen die frühen Journey, Abraxas Pool, einige Neil Schon Soloprojekte (herausragend: Beyond the Thunder), sie alle bilden meinen Santana-Kosmos ab. Das sich der Über-Gitarrist zeitweilig auf die Mainstream-/ Popseite geschlagen und erfolgreich radiotaugliche Schlagermusik abgeliefert hat, kann unter Betrachtung des bisherigen Gesamtkatalogs hingenommen werden. Um so erfreulicher, das Vorgestern veröffentlichte neue Album Africa Speaks, das -was für ein Klischee- überzeugend zu den Santana-Wurzeln zurückführt. Ehe ich jetzt in den Falle „falle“, wie es fast alle professionellen oder auch die unberufenenen Kritiker soeben tun, irgendein back-to-the-roots Geschwurbel ( … er kann es noch, klingt wie früher, zurückgekehrt in die musikalische Heimat etc.) und vertrackste Analysen über den Ursprung der 11 Titel anstelle, nur soviel: Africa Speaks ist ein tolles, mitreißendes Santana Album in der ursprünglichen Santana Sprache und die Fortsetzung von Santana 1 bis 4, so – als hätte es nichts dazwischen gegeben. Der Titel des Albums gibt genau das musikalische Thema wieder. Erstmals hat mit der 47 jährigen spanischen Concha Buika eine Sängerin das Sagen auf einem Santana Album und das wiederum schafft doch noch ein neues Feeling. Einfach klasse Musik. Damit ist alles gesagt. Das muß reichen. Hört Ihr`s, dann hört Ihr`s.

THE DEAD SET OUT ON SUMMER GETAWAY TOUR The Dead are coming together for their first Summer tour since Jerry Garcia's passing and will be joined on various dates of the tour by legendary musicians Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Steve Winwood, and celebrated Grateful Dead songwriter Robert Hunter. The Dead are kicking off the first leg of their Summer Getaway Tour at the sold-out Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee on June 15 and will continue touring through early July. Steve Winwood will join the band from June 17-25, and Willie Nelson & Family will join the tour from June 27 through July 4; Nelson's final performance with The Dead will take place at his spectacular 4th of July picnic in Austin, TX. Tickets are on sale at dead.net as well as at Ticketmaster . The second leg of the Summer Getaway Tour will be co-headlined by the incomparable Bob Dylan, who will play prior to and sit in with The Dead. This pairing has not taken place since The Dead and Bob Dylan, along with his band, collaborated on a sold-out stadium tour in 1987. The second leg of the Summer Getaway Tour will be from July 29 through August 10. (Complete tour schedules follow.) Adding in the Southern flavor of the Allman Brothers, Randall formed his first band, Running Easy, in 1971. In 1987, Randall was asked to take the place of Allen Collins in Lynyrd Skynyrd after Collins’ paralyzing car accident. He remained a member of the band until 1994. Fran Cosmo exploded onto the rock scene when he took over for Brad Delp as the lead singer of Boston in 1992. Fran was featured as the lead vocalist on the “Walk On” album, which sold over one million copies worldwide. Prior to his success as the lead singer of Boston, he was the lead singer and song co-writer for both “Orion the Hunter” and Barry Goundreau albums. Fran Cosmo is known for his high-energy and outstanding vocal range on Boston songs that very few, if any, can perform.

Synopsis: Born in 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico, Carlos Santana moved to San Francisco in the early 1960s, where he formed the Santana Blues Band in 1966. The band, later simply known as Santana, signed a contract with Columbia Records, with Carlos becoming the consistent front man. Throughout the 1970s and early '80s, Santana released a string of successful albums such as "Abraxas," "Lotus" and "Amigos," making a big comeback in 1999 with the Grammy Award-winning "Supernatural." In 2009, he received a Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award and several years later became a Kennedy Center Honors recipient. More recent albums have included "Corazón" and "Santana IV." Background And Early Life Musician Carlos Santana was born on July 20, 1947, in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico. His father, Jose, was an accomplished professional violinist, and as a child Carlos learned to play the instrument from his father, though he ultimately didn't enjoy the tones he created. He would eventually take up the electric guitar, for which he developed an ardent passion.
