October 24, 2020 OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM VS OCTOBER 24, 2020 FORWARD MADISON LOOKS FOR HIGH NOTE IN SEASON FINALE AT HART PARK Flamingos to take on Revolution II hoping for one more win in 2020 USL League One - Game 16 Forward Madison FC vs New England Revolution II Saturday, October 24, 2020; 7:00 p.m. CT Hart Park - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin Where to Watch TVW and ESPN+ Follow @ForwardMSNFC on Twitter for live updates Keep track of the official stats on the USL League One Match Center Forward Madison will have a chance to end its 2020 on a high note Saturday, as the team hosts New En- gland Revolution II in its season finale at Hart Park. The Flamingos can no longer qualify for the USL League One Final, but for Head Coach Daryl Shore, they still have a reputation to uphold. “This is a time for our pride and our character to show,” Shore said on Behind the Feathers this week. “We want to win this game. The players want to win the game. We want to win the game for this organization and we want to win this game for our fans.” Forward Madison currently sits 9th in the League One standings, but could potentially move up to as high as 6th with a win. The Flamingos also stand to finish the year with a .500 record if they can claim victory. According to Shore, it’s one of the first steps in getting the club back on track after missing the postseason. “We look forward to first closing this season off with a win,” Shore said. “After that (we’ll) make sure the ros- ter is formulated for 2021 to where we get back to the Forward Madison ways of being in the playoffs and competing for a championship.” PREVIEW CONT. OCTOBER 24 After an especially exhausting season, though, in which FMFC’s players had to travel hours for both prac- tices and games, the wear and tear is finally beginning to show. Forward’s unavailable list for Saturday includes Jalen Crisler, Christian Diaz, Brandon Eaton, Gustavo Fernandes, and Alex Monis. Shore also listed Jamael Cox, Eric Leonard, and Connor Tobin as questionable. “We’re like a MASH unit right now,” Shore said. “We’re going to have 11 guys to start the game and we’re going to have seven reverses who will help us close the game out. We’re going to go down swinging, that’s for sure.” One storyline for Saturday will be goalkeeper Chris Brady’s chase for the USL League One Golden Glove Award. Brady currently holds a 0.71 Goals Against Average, just behind league leader Dallas Jaye’s 0.67. Jaye’s Greenville Triumph will kick off at Orlando City B earlier in the day, meaning Brady will already know what he has to do to earn the award. New England Revolution II, meanwhile, has also already been eliminated from contention for the USL League One Final. The Revolution are eighth in League One, level on points with the Flamingos but ahead on a tiebreaker. New England has been in good form recently, winning four of its six past games, but was battered 4-0 by South Georgia Tormenta on Wednesday. Nicolas Firmino has been the Revolution’s standout player, lead- ing the team in goals (4) and co-leading in assists (2). Forward Madison won its only previous meeting with New England in convincing fashion, claiming a 4-0 victory on the road on September 4. According to Shore, Saturday’s match represents a chance to finish things on a positive. “There’s nothing better than winning your last game,” Shore said. “It’s kind of like golf, where you’re only as good as your last hole. When you par or birdie 18, you’re ready to go out and play again.” TROPICAL GOALKEEPER KIT AVAILABLE ONLINE OR AT FLymingo TEAM STORE ON GAME DAYS. • The Darkness Volume 4, Issue 6 July 2, 2016
The Darkness Volume 4, Issue 6 July 2, 2016 NOTES FROM A JACKASS HECKLER’S SCOUTING REPORT DARK CLOUDS HYMNAL NOTES FROM A Jackass A whole new season. A fesh start. The spring didn’t go as planned, sure, but the Loons start the fall only two points out of the lead for the combined standings. Thankfully, everyone had a crap spring. In this case, we start where we began. The Loons opened the spring season away to the RailHawks. It was promising: remember Christian Ramirez’s wonder-strike? It feels a lifetime away, because after Christian put us ahead, Carolina came roaring (screaming? What the hell sort of noise does a RailHawk make? Choo chooing?) back into the match. It ended 2-1 for the home side. Minnesota went on to win three matches in a row, including that historic win over the Cosmos. Carolina went on to win their next three matches as well, before they collapsed. They gathered only two points from their last six matches. What has changed between then and now? Carolina look large- ly the same, having added only Jacksonville’s Matt Fondy to their strikeforce (see Heckler’s Scouting Report). Minnesota, have signed Jack Blake and lost Bernardo Añor to long-term injury. Carolina come into this match in desperate need of a functioning attack. The RailHawks have scored only one goal in their last four league matches. Minnesota, on the other hand needs to do two things: sort out its defense and learn to break down tight defenses. The Loons were tied for the third most goals allowed in the spring.

  • May 24, 2019 Welcome to Madison!
OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM Photo by Justin Nuoffer, IG: @itsjuicetime VS FIRST INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY MAY 24, 2019 WELCOME TO MADISON! HERTHA BERLIN! Our First International Friendly Forward Madison FC will kick off its first-ever major international exhibition match Friday night, hosting German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin at Breese Stevens Field. The game promises to be a historic one, not only as a huge test for FMFC’s players, but also as a chance for Madison’s soccer fans to watch one of the world’s major clubs in action. Founded in 1892, Hertha Berlin is the largest soccer club in Germany’s capital city. Hertha was a found- ing member of the German Bundesliga and remains the only Berlin team in Germany’s first division. Her- tha Berlin finished 11th in the Bundesliga this season and competed in the Europa League as recently as 2017. Speaking on “Let Me Be Forward” Wednesday, Head Coach Daryl Shore said he is planning to treat the game as a special occasion. “We view the Hertha Berlin game as a bonus for all of our players,” Shore said. “The fans are going to get a chance to see everybody play, they’re going to see all of our guys get some minutes.” FMFC will come into the Hertha game in the middle of a heavily-congested schedule in which the team has not had more than four days of rest between games since April. According to Shore, this means he will use the full depth of his roster for the friendly, and could also count on the presence of several non-loan Minnesota United players, as he did during FMFC’s exhibition against UW-Madison last month.

The Flamingos still have two matches to go in 2020, but were eliminat- ed from contention for the USL League One final last week. For some teams, that might be reason enough to fold their cards. But for Head Coach Daryl Shore and Forward Madison, there’s still plenty to play for. Speaking on Behind the Feathers, Shore noted that FMFC needs at least four points to secure a winning record this season. “This has been a tough year: We haven’t been able to play at Breese [and] we haven’t been able to prac- tice in Madison,” Shore said. “But we still know the support that we get from our ownership group, the front office, the Flock and all of our other fans.

OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM VS JUNE 25, 2019 Special Exhibition Game Forward Madison FC vs Minnesota United FC Tuesday, June 25, 2019; 7:00 p.m. CT Breese Stevens Field - Madison, WI Forward Madison will mark its name in Wisconsin soccer history Tuesday night at 7 p.m., hosting Major League Soccer club Minnesota United in a special exhibition game at Breese Stevens Field. This will be the first time an MLS team has played in Wisconsin in 14 years, and the first time ever that an MLS team has visited Madison. According to Forward Madison Managing Director Peter Wilt, the exhibition will be one of the marquee events of the FMFC’s inaugural season. “This match will be the highlight of the summer for many of our fans,” Wilt said. “The chance to see a Major League Soccer team play in Madison is extremely exciting.” Tuesday’s exhibition represents just one aspect of a partnership between Forward Madison and Minnesota United, which the two clubs announced in December. The Flamingos have also received several Loons on loan from Minnesota, and the teams are sharing scouting and technical resources. FMFC’s roster should be at full strength for the game, with midfielder Danny Tenorio having made his full return to the team during Saturday’s 4-1 victory over North Texas SC. With an important USL League One game coming up on Friday in Toronto, Head Coach Daryl Shore will likely look to tap into the depth of his squad, giving some players chances who haven’t come by lots of minutes so far.
