October 3, 2020 OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM VS OCTOBER 3, 2020 Forward Madison FC vs. FC Tucson | Saturday, October 3, 2020 - 7:00PM Hart Park Stadium - Wauwatosa, WI Featuring art by local voter Cassidy Sepnieski FORWARD MADISON ENTERS HOME STRETCH IN MATCH VS TUCSON Flamingos looking for revenge as last month of season begins USL League One - Game 11 Forward Madison FC vs FC Tucson Saturday, October 3, 2020; 7:00 p.m. CT Hart Park - Wauwatosa, WI Where to Watch TVW and ESPN+ Follow @ForwardMSNFC on Twitter for live updates Keep track of the official stats on the USL League One Match Center Forward Madison will kick off the final month of its 2020 campaign on Saturday night, taking on FC Tucson at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. The Flamingos are nearly in the home stretch of the regular season, with just six games left to play, and currently sit fifth in USL League One - six points off a spot in the championship game. With time running thin, every result could dramatically affect FMFC’s playoff chances. The Flamingos are well behind league leaders Greenville Triumph, but following a victory over Chattanooga last weekend, find themselves two wins away from second-place Richmond Kickers. Speaking on Behind the Feathers this week, Head Coach Daryl Shore said his team needs to pick up points in its home games to have any chance at a playoff spot. Forward Madison has won three straight matches at Hart Park, and will play there four more times in October. “We’ve got a number in our heads that we think we’ve got to get to, but we also know it’s going to be really difficult,” Shore said. “We’re all chasing Richmond and Greeenville, and what we have to do is we have to PREVIEW CONT. OCTOBER 3 continue to get wins at home and put those teams under a little bit of pressure.” Saturday’s match comes on the heels of Forward’s 1-0 win against Chattanooga last Saturday, which snapped a two-game losing streak. Midfielder Michael Vang scored the only goal of the game, knocking home the rebound after Wojciech Wojcik’s header was parried by the opposing goalkeeper. “It was a very important game for us,” Shore said. “It was a great bounce back from our group. I’m really proud of how our guys responded.” Shore chose to rest several of his regular starters during that game due to short recovery time between matches, with Wojcik, J.C. Banks, and Jiro Barriga Toyama all coming in off the bench. This week, though, the Flamingos have had a whole seven days of rest, giving Shore a less limited selection of players to choose from. Another positive for FMFC could soon come in the form of midfielder Brandon Eaton, who - although he will not feature this week, per Shore - is back in training after missing several weeks through injury. And just in case making the playoffs wasn’t enough incentive, Forward Madison could have an extra moti- vation against Tucson on Saturday: Revenge. The Flamingos lost 1-0 in Arizona last Wednesday, and Shore said his team needs to show it can do better. “It’s not going to be an easy game,” Shore said. “We’ve got to roll up our sleeves. We’ve got to be ready to battle with them.” FC Tucson, meanwhile, are currently in the midst of their own playoff chase. Tucson is tied on points with FMFC, but has played two more games and doesn’t have as good a goal differential. Still, Tucson’s form as of late has been impossible to predict. Saturday’s opponents have gone 2-2-2 in their last six games, and have done no better at home this year than on the road. Striker Shak Adams, who did not play during Tucson’s win over Forward Madison on Sept. 23, leads the team with four goals, while Charlie Dennis has set the pace with four assists. Although Adams will likely be back in the lineup, Tucson will be without regular defender Derrick Silva, who left the team to begin his collegiate career with UCLA. Forward Madison is 2-1-1 all-time against FC Tucson. The Flamingos won both their home matches against the Arizonans last year, recording 2-1 and 1-0 victories at Breese Stevens Field. Following Saturday’s game, FMFC will finish its three-game Hart Park homestand next Sunday when it plays host to Union Omaha on Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. TROPICAL GOALKEEPER KIT AVAILABLE ONLINE OR AT FLymingo TEAM STORE ON GAME DAYS. OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM Photo by Justin Nuoffer, IG: @itsjuicetime VS FIRST INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY MAY 24, 2019 WELCOME TO MADISON! HERTHA BERLIN! Our First International Friendly Forward Madison FC will kick off its first-ever major international exhibition match Friday night, hosting German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin at Breese Stevens Field. The game promises to be a historic one, not only as a huge test for FMFC’s players, but also as a chance for Madison’s soccer fans to watch one of the world’s major clubs in action. Founded in 1892, Hertha Berlin is the largest soccer club in Germany’s capital city. Hertha was a found- ing member of the German Bundesliga and remains the only Berlin team in Germany’s first division. Her- tha Berlin finished 11th in the Bundesliga this season and competed in the Europa League as recently as 2017. Speaking on “Let Me Be Forward” Wednesday, Head Coach Daryl Shore said he is planning to treat the game as a special occasion. “We view the Hertha Berlin game as a bonus for all of our players,” Shore said. “The fans are going to get a chance to see everybody play, they’re going to see all of our guys get some minutes.” FMFC will come into the Hertha game in the middle of a heavily-congested schedule in which the team has not had more than four days of rest between games since April. According to Shore, this means he will use the full depth of his roster for the friendly, and could also count on the presence of several non-loan Minnesota United players, as he did during FMFC’s exhibition against UW-Madison last month.

The Flamingos still have two matches to go in 2020, but were eliminat- ed from contention for the USL League One final last week. For some teams, that might be reason enough to fold their cards. But for Head Coach Daryl Shore and Forward Madison, there’s still plenty to play for. Speaking on Behind the Feathers, Shore noted that FMFC needs at least four points to secure a winning record this season. “This has been a tough year: We haven’t been able to play at Breese [and] we haven’t been able to prac- tice in Madison,” Shore said. “But we still know the support that we get from our ownership group, the front office, the Flock and all of our other fans.

The Flamingos can no longer qualify for the USL League One Final, but for Head Coach Daryl Shore, they still have a reputation to uphold. “This is a time for our pride and our character to show,” Shore said on Behind the Feathers this week. “We want to win this game. The players want to win the game. We want to win the game for this organization and we want to win this game for our fans.” Forward Madison currently sits 9th in the League One standings, but could potentially move up to as high as 6th with a win. The Flamingos also stand to finish the year with a .500 record if they can claim victory. According to Shore, it’s one of the first steps in getting the club back on track after missing the postseason. “We look forward to first closing this season off with a win,” Shore said.

OFFICIAL GAME DAY PROGRAM VS JULY 27, 2019 German Heritage Night Presented by Essen Haus Forward Madison FC returns to Breese Stevens Field from a week off in need of a win against last-place Orlando City B this Saturday at 7 p.m. The Flamingos are still five points off the playoff places, and with time running out on their inaugural USL League One sea- son, moving up the standings is becoming a now-or-never proposition. According to Head Coach Daryl Shore, the pressure is on and his team needs to respond accordingly. “There’s 12 games left, the challenge to our group was we have to get points in all 12 games, and most of those games have to be wins,” Shore said. “The playoffs start on Satur- day for us.” Although Forward Madison looked as if it had hit a good run of form after beating League One’s top two teams in late June and early July, the ‘Mingos have stagnated since, giving up a last-minute goal to lose to Lansing and conceding late again in a 1-1 draw with Chat- tanooga on July 13. FMFC has split the season series with Orlando so far, emerging victori- ous from its first game in the Sunshine State (the club’s first-ever win) and falling by a goal in the rematch. This time around, the Flamingos will have the added benefit of extra rest; their previous game came last Tuesday in a 2-1 exhibition win over Leones Negros UdeG, while Orlando played this Wednesday and lost 4-1 to South Georgia Tormenta FC.
