This is our second Annual Philanthropy Review The review is our opportunity to thank you, and already we have so much to celebrate and record some of our achievements and share so many people to thank. Until 1976 and the abolition of the direct-grant scheme, the GDST was the largest provider next year of free independent school places in the country. In the past, up to 35% of the pupils at South Hampstead received a free place. These places transformed the lives of girls from all backgrounds on a large scale.
