DSWD DROMIC Terminal Report on Tropical Storm “Crising” 18 June 2021, 6PM DSWD DROMIC Terminal Report on Tropical Storm “Crising” 18 June 2021, 6PM Situation Overview This is the final report on the Tropical Storm “Crising”. On 13 May 2021 “Crising” made its landfall in the vicinity of Baganga, Davao Oriental as it weakened into a Tropical Depression. As “Crising” weakened into LPA on 14 May 2021 at around 8 AM and continuously moved westward or west northwestward emerging over the Sulu Sea, light to moderate with at times heavy rains were experienced over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental that resulted to flooding in some of the affected areas. Source: DOST-PAGASA Severe Weather Bulletin I. Status of Affected Families / Persons A total of 12,019 families or 59,597 persons were affected in 63 barangays in Regions IX and XI (see Table 1). Inside Evacuation Centers There were 1,056 families or 5,632 persons currently taking temporary shelter in 12 evacuation centers in Regions IX and Region XI (see Table 2). Table 2. Its headquarters shall be located in the Municipality of Diplahan. The Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall comprise the municipalities of Buug, Diplahan, Malangas, Imelda, Alicia, Mabuhay, Olutanga, Talusan and Payao. The Municipalities of Ipil, Kabasalan, Naga, Roseller T. Lim, Siay, Titay and Tungawan shall remain under the jurisdiction of the existing DEO, which shall henceforth be known as Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd DEO. Pending approval of the DPWH Rationalization Plan, the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall be constituted and manned by appropriate personnel from the Regional Office and/or other offices of the Department as may be identified by the Regional Director of DPWH Region IX, subject to approval by appropriate official of the Department, CS Law and Rules and pertinent provisions of the Omnibus Election Code. The DPWH Central Office may also provide technical and planning support to the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO as may be necessary. The initial cost to operationalize the Zamboanga Sibugay 1st DEO shall be charged against appropriate funds of the Department, subject to existing accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Succeeding funding requirements shall be included in the annual budget of the Department.

Cooperatives in the nation now highlight the statement embedded in the Cooperative Pledge which states that, “Alone I am weak, but with others I am strong”, by helping not only their members but also the communities where they belong. Community Quarantine in Region XI started sometime in March 2020. In the spirit of cooperativism, cooperatives in Region XI took initiatives to support the need of their members, their communities and the frontliners. “Bayanihan” is now trending in social media and a lot of people are now helping to contain this pandemic. The following cooperatives took part in extending assistance to those in need: DAVAO CITY SUBASTA AGRARIAN REFORM BENEFICIARIES AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE (SARBAC) As its way of giving honor and thanks to the frontliners, the Subasta Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Agricultural Cooperative (SARBAC) from Calinan, Davao City gave food packs to the personnel assigned at the Task Force Check point area in Wangan, Calinan, Davao City last March 27, 2019. SARBAC officers recognized the importance of frontliners in making sure that the virus not spread further. Their great sacrifice for their community and country in safeguarding the lives of the people is beyond greatness worthy of recognition.
