Pre-basic seed crops are eligible for inspection if they are planted with potatoes that were classified the previous year as Pre-basic 1; or Pre-basic TC (Mini Tubers) that were obtained from propagation units that have been approved by SASA. All initial planting material in these units must have been derived from nuclear (pathogen tested microplants) stock produced by SASA. Pre- basic crops must be grown on land on which potatoes have not been grown in the preceeding 7 years and is free from wart disease and potato cyst nematode. Pre-basic crops are classified provided they meet the strict standards for purity and health at two growing crop inspections. Basic seed crops are eligible for inspection if they are planted with potatoes that were classified the previous year at a Basic class equivalent to EEC 1 or EEC 2, or the appropriate class of the Pre-basic category as permitted by the above Regulations. Basic seed crops must be grown on land on which potatoes have not been grown in the preceeding 5 years and is free from wart disease and potato cyst nematode. Basic seed crops are classified provided they meet the required standards for purity and health at two growing crop inspections. All Basic Category crops in the Register meet the requirements for EC Community Grades EEC 1, EEC 2 or EEC 3. Only classified seed potatoes that have been subject to an official tuber inspection, that applies tolerances for disease, pests, damage and defects, and are in sealed containers to which an official label/EC Plant Passport is attached may be marketed. The label will contain details of the potatoes and will confirm if they are Pre-basic or Basic category and as appropriate, the class and EEC grade. The person who markets the seed potatoes must provide a sale or delivery note that contains specified details, similar to those on the label, within fourteen days of the sale or delivery. Those who market seed potatoes are responsible for ensuring that the potatoes comply with the Regulations. In the Register, crops are listed by classes. Each part is sub-divided by variety and geographic location; within each sub- division the producer’s name and number are shown, together with the area classified in hectares. The name of the farm on which the crop was grown is also shown. Part I and II– Pre-basic and VTSC (Virus Tested Stem Cuttings). Crops at growing crop inspection that were found to have no deviation from trueness-to-type and to contain nil % of groundkeepers, Severe Mosaic, Mild Mosaic, Leafroll and Blackleg. Crops are identified by a numerical suffix (Pre-basic 1, Pre-basic 2, VT 1, VT 2) denoting the number of years that they have been classified at Pre-Basic or VTSC. Part III–Super Elite. Crops at growing crop inspection that were found to contain not more than 0.05 % in total of rogues or undesirable variations (including wildings, bolters and semi bolters); nil % Severe Mosaic and not more than 0.01% Leafroll, 0.05 % Mild Mosaic (including all mottles) or 0.25 % Blackleg. All SE crops are identified by a numerical suffix (SE1, SE2, SE3) denoting the number of years that they have been grown at SE level. Part IV– Elite. Crops at growing crop inspection that were found to contain not more than 0.05% in total of rogues or undesirable variations (including wildings and bolters); and not more than 0.5% Leafroll, Severe Mosaic and Mild Mosaic of which not more than 0.1% (in total) was Leafroll and Severe Mosaic; or 0.5% Blackleg. All E crops are identified with a numerical suffix (E1, E2, E3) denoting the number of years that they have been classified at E level. Part V– AA. Crops at growing crop inspection that were found to contain not more than 0.1% in total of rogues or undesirable variations (including wildings and bolters); and not more than 1.0% Leafroll, Severe Mosaic and Mild Mosaic, or 1.0% Blackleg. Part VI– Organic. Crops classified at Super Elite, Elite and AA that upon entry for classification were identified by the applicant as being produced to meet the requirements of a recognised organic certification authority. SASA cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided. AA/EEC3 is not a class of entry in the Scottish classification scheme. Seed crops will not be considered for classification if there are crops on the farm which are being grown from an AA or EEC 3 source. Trueness-to-type – For tuber coloured variants of established varieties (e.g. Red King Edward or Red Craigs Royal) classification refers only to foliage type. The responsibility for dressing out any tubers from the produce of the crop which do not conform to the colour of the variant rests with the seller. The Regulations state that for Basic category potatoes the percentage must not exceed 0.1% of the sample taken by an inspector prior to marketing; for Pre-basic category potatoes the amount must not exceed 0.01%. The Register does not include all seed potato crops classified by SASA in 2004.     1 The Cistercian Abbey of Coupar Angus, c.1164-c.1560 Victoria Anne Hodgson University of Stirling Submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy August 2016 2 3 Abstract This thesis is an examination of the Cistercian abbey of Coupar Angus, c.1164-c.1560, and its place within Scottish society. The subject of medieval monasticism in Scotland has received limited scholarly attention and Coupar itself has been almost completely overlooked, despite the fact that the abbey possesses one of the best sets of surviving sources of any Scottish religious house. Moreover, in recent years, long-held assumptions about the Cistercian Order have been challenged and the validity of Order-wide generalisations disputed. Historians have therefore highlighted the importance of dedicated studies of individual houses and the need to incorporate the experience of abbeys on the European ‘periphery’ into the overall narrative. This thesis considers the history of Coupar in terms of three broadly thematic areas. The first chapter focuses on the nature of the abbey’s landholding and prosecution of resources, as well as the monks’ burghal presence and involvement in trade. The second investigates the ways in which the house interacted with wider society outside of its role as landowner, particularly within the context of lay piety, patronage and its intercessory function. The final chapter is concerned with a more strictly ecclesiastical setting and is divided into two parts. The first considers the abbey within the configuration of the Scottish secular church with regards to parishes, churches and chapels. The second investigates the strength of Cistercian networks, both domestic and international.

No: 14/01993/FLM Ward No: 3 - Blairgowrie and Glens Summary This report recommends refusal of the application for the erection of six turbines and associated infrastructure, on land within Perth and Kinross Council’s administrative area, as the location, prominence, scale and layout of the proposed windfarm would have unacceptable adverse landscape impacts. Including cumulative landscape impacts on the immediate landscape character as well as the wider landscape setting and the Highland Boundary Fault. Additionally the windfarm has significant and unacceptable visual impacts, including cumulative landscape impacts on residential, recreational and tourist receptors. In light if the above and the adverse impact on the setting of scheduled ancient monuments it is considered that the magnitude of the adverse effects associated with the development are significant and environmentally unacceptable. The proposal is not considered to comply with the overriding thrust of the development plan and there are no material considerations of sufficient weight which would justify departing from the development plan. Accordingly the application should be refused. It should be noted that Angus Council has refused the application for the eight turbines within their administrative Area.
