The kitchen was finally completed, along with everything else. Integrated Transport Plan Background Paper i Background Paper January 2017 This background paper was compiled by Hobsons Bay City Council. Council also acknowledges the legal responsibility to comply with the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 and the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. ii Executive summary The purpose of this background paper is to present an evidence base to inform future integrated transport planning in Hobsons Bay. Background Council released the Hobsons Bay Integrated Transport Strategy in 2006. More recently, consultation has identified ‘access to transport’ as an ongoing issue, particularly in neighbourhoods with limited transport options and high car dependency. In response to these concerns, Council committed to commence the development of an Integrated Transport Plan in 2014, with the first step being to develop a background paper. This background paper reinforces the need for long term strategic planning to coordinate Hobsons Bay’s interrelated transport modes into an integrated system. This ‘network approach’ is underpinned by a sustainable transport hierarchy that prioritises active, public and freight transport, while encouraging reduced private car use. BLACKBURN CREEKLANDS MASTER PLAN September 2002 Blackburn Creeklands Master Plan OVERVIEW Information from a range of sources has been compiled for the Blackburn Creeklands to build a picture of the park and of its past and present management. This background information acknowledges the community‟s close association with the Creeklands, the value that the community places on each of the three parks in the chain, the efforts of the Blackburn Creeklands Advisory Committee and improvements undertaken by Council. Relevant strategies and policy documents provide a City-wide and regional context for the Master Plan. In addition, a study of flora, fauna and habitat by Practical Ecology Pty Ltd was commissioned specifically for the Master Plan (refer Appendix A) and is a major component of the Plan. The recent study of Gardiners Creek by Ove Arup for Melbourne Water is also highly relevant to the future directions for the Creeklands. The site analysis considers the separate components that make up the Creeklands. It provides a detailed description of existing conditions for each component across the whole park and from this, key issues and opportunities for improvement are highlighted. Broadly, the site analysis covers the following: Environmental elements . Vegetation, fauna and habitat . The creek . Visual attributes, such as terrain and landscape character The park user . Park facilities, particularly access trails, entrance treatments, fencing and car parking, as well as playgrounds, lighting and seats. Activities, visitor needs, park interpretation and community education . Heritage interests Property management . Leases, tenant groups, adjoining land and other general property matters. The objectives of the Master Plan are intended to reflect those matters that are important to the community, Council and other key stakeholders. -

State of Maroondah 2021 Maroondah 2040 - Our future together 2 STATE OF MAROONDAH 2021 Measuring our progress The State of Maroondah Report 2021 provides a snapshot of how our municipality is progressing towards the community vision identified in Maroondah 2040 - Our future together. Welcome to the State of Maroondah Report 2021. This report provides a snapshot of our progress as a municipality over the past two years, since the previous State of Maroondah Report was released in 2019. The report focuses on the Maroondah 2040 Community Indicators of Progress, along with some of the key Council Plan achievements during the period 2018/19 and 2019/20 and how these are working towards the vision identified in Maroondah 2040 - Our future together. The past two years has seen the completion of some significant infrastructure projects along with a range of strategic work aimed at creating a vibrant and attractive city. These projects have included: construction of Maroondah Nets; development of a Children and Families Strategy; public art installations in Croydon, Croydon South and Heathmont; development of the Maroondah Vegetation Strategy 2020-2030; design of multi-level carparks in Croydon; Ringwood; Heathmont and Heatherdale station; renewal works along the Dandenong Creek shared trail; commencement of staged redevelopment for the Croydon Community Wellbeing Precinct; finalisation of the Ringwood Activity Centre Masterplan; implementation of the new Local Government Act 2020; development of a COVID-19 relief and recovery response framework; and launch of the Be Kind Maroondah campaign. This State of Maroondah Report 2021 provides just a snapshot of key projects delivered by Council over this period and highlights areas of focus for the next two years in working towards the Maroondah 2040 Community Vision.
