At the heart of the season is a series following one dynamic headmistress on a mission to wipe out illiteracy in her primary school. A special edition of Dispatches (Why Our Children Can’t Read) will focus on the effectiveness of the various methods currently employed to teach children to read, as well as exploring the wider societal impact of poor literacy rates. Daytime hosts Richard and Judy will aim to get children reading with an hour-long peak time special, Richard & Judy’s Best Kids’ Books Ever. BRITAIN’S DEADLIEST ADDICTIONS (October) Britain’s Deadliest Addictions follows three addicts round the clock as they try to kick their habits at a leading detox clinic.
