The collaboration to this date P is just a proof that our path is the right one – healthy spirit in the healthy body, constant progress and development, and also achieving higher goals and wins. Racers proudly win under our protection, and we stand proudly beside them. With common strength we give them the conditions for their growth. Each of their win is also our win. Endurance is still the most important feature of elite racer and that doesn’t come in small doses in our lines. Every great success is a result of resistance and endurance. We are remaining the winning combination! Each racer is unique and contributes to the success of the whole team with his skills, endurance and wins. In all these years we have learned how to win and we are going to keep on winning. Our goals and visions remain clear and we will achieve them with the determination. In the elite sport it is the fact that only one moment is enough for a man to overcome endless distance. We will overcome this distance together, at the right moments! René Glavnik, the Manager of the Club Perutnina Ptuj The significant milestones in the history of the club 1985 The foundation of the Cycling Club Ptuj, which was in his early beginnings above all an active recreational club. The same year the first recreational marathon, in which René Glavnik took an active part, was organized. 1987 The Cycling Club Ptuj starts growing a competitive side of cycling in the Pioneers category at that time. In the same year René Glavnik turns out to be the constant companion of the club. First, he becomes the president of the management committee. Furthermore, the guidance of the development is set to expand the competitive activity to all categories for boys-from younger to older youth. That same year the Cycling Club Ptuj organizes the first recreational race, in which mag. Danilo Toplek, René Glavnik, Franc Polanec, Stane Pal and Stane Merc compete among many others. 1988 In the spring, René Glavnik, the President of the Club at that time, buys the first competitive bikes for the Pioneers with his own funds (loan). René Glavnik is also an initiator for buying a vehicle, which would enable more efficient mobility of the team. The Club buys a van 8 + 1 Renault with the help of joint non-refundable means from sponsors: Tovarna aluminija Boris Kidrič Kmetijski kombinat Ptuj, MIP Ptuj maloprodaja, MIP Ptuj veleprodaja, Opekarna Žabjak, podjetje Olge Meglič Merkur Ptuj. 1989 That year the Club organizes a race for pioneers in Ptuj. Its start and finish was in front of magistrate at Mestni trg. On the day of the race it rained heavily, but the people from Ptuj attended the event in large number. They encouraged the racers persistently even though they had to carry umbrellas. The first sponsor of the club was a company Olge Meglič with a great engagement by manager Franc Zorc and the president of the union Stanko Čuš. Young racers under the leadership of Franc Polanc and René Glavnik score success after success. In spite of good development, the Club has a financial deficit, especially for the needs of transportation to the competitions. The agreement with Kmetijski kombinat Ptuj follows, where the racers, their parents, friends and acquaintances participate in grape gathering and inoculating the tips of the corn. For many years these actions Perutnina Ptuj took place, where around 50 to 70 people had gathered. For their work they received a payment, which was meant for the fuel, some spaghettis and rice. 1990 Stanovanjska zadruga Ptuj and its manager in charge, Srečko Selinšek, also gave ear to the cycling sport by sponsoring the racers from Ptuj in a racing event Alpe-Adria. Perutnina Ptuj also offers help in the most critical time of the club. Rene Glavnik and dr. Roman Glaser make an arrangement regarding the sponsorship of the club. 1992 The Cycling Club Ptuj signs a document regarding the permanent cooperation with Perutnina Ptuj. The signers are dr. Roman Glaser and René Glavnik. Gradual progress is also materially supported; the club changes its name in Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj. 1995 The president of the club's management committee becomes dr. Roman Glaser, and René Glavnik becomes the club's manager. The club expands its competitive guidance on more age groups and categories among boys to A, B and C category, to younger and older youth and also Elite under 23. The teams progress constantly also on the results, their trainers are Vinko Polončič, Andrej Cimprič and Samo Glavnik. 1999 They also advance in the category of the member competitions in the umbrella team Perutnina Ptuj Radenska Rog, which operates until 2001. 2001 In 2001 the Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj joins forces with the team Krka Telekom and appears under the joint team Perutnina Ptuj & Krka Telekom, which is led by Srečko Glivar and Robert Pintarič. 2002 The organization of independent professional team under the name KK Perutnina Ptuj is registered at UCI (International Cycling Union) in the TT/III category. 2003 The professional team Perutnina Ptuj takes over an experienced trainer Srečko Glivar, who successfully runs the team TT/III and young team U-23. 2004 Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj creates a new era in Slovenian professional sport. 2005 The team of the club Perutnina Ptuj shows great results at home and also abroad. This team is respected, desired and homogeneous one, which uncompromisingly competes and can achieve the best there is. Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj celebrates its 20th anniversary of existing and operating. Perutnina Ptuj 2006 The professional team Perutnina Ptuj marks the 20-year jubilee of the foundation of Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj, in the same year the team achieves 33 international wins. 2007 In the season 2007 Cycling Club Perutnina Ptuj signs a strategic partnership with a new official outfitter of the racing bicycles CULT, which ensures the topmost racing bicycles for achieving the greatest results. On a solemn inauguration, which took place on 30th January in Grand hotel Primus on Ptuj, the club presented this year's selected competitive team – UCI Continental Team 2008. This year's team is also full of resounding names from the professional cycling scene. The team has a lot of young hopes, who represent the new cycling potential. Our team shows great results at home and also abroad. This team is respected, desired and homogeneous one, which uncompromisingly competes and can achieve the best of the best.
