Route points Characteristics Distance Heart of the Iron Gate, archeologial sites and the Lepenski Vir Museum, with the remains of 1 Lepenski Vir Museum one of the oldest human civilizations (to 6500 BC) 0 km From the parking place of the museum, take the old, narrow asphalt road over the cliffs 2 Canyon of the Boljetin River and cross the narrow canyon of the river Boljetin with its ancient rocks. 0.8 km Because of its width, the Danube looks like a sea. When you arrive here, you will have the 3 Panoramic Stand second biggest uphill of the Serbian Danube Cycle Route in front of you (2km length, 125m 3 km difference in height), a beautiful slope along the Danube follows. Here you can take the way to the town of Majdanpek and visit the beautiful Open Air 4 Crossing Gallery (1.7km length, 80m height difference) or you can drive directly to the town called 8 km Donji Milanovac. The remains of the old town are still lying underneath the water and can be seen from the bridge when 5 km the level of Danube is low. 7 Golubinje Village Still asphalted road, Dunavska Koliba Restaurant 7 km A unique view of the narrowest point of the Danube Canyon. At the Romanian side, the Decebal Hills can be seen.
