Ce qui veut dire qu’à notre niveau, les structures mises en place lors de la création de la Fédération Cycliste Wallonie Bruxelles doivent également évoluer. Le monde moderne avec ses profondes mutations le force pourtant à s’interroger sans cesse sur des évolutions indispensables, voire inéluctables. Avec l’aide des représentants des sections provinciales, très prochainement, nous allons lancer les bases d’une réforme fonctionnelle qui sera étudiée lors de diverses réunions de travail.     CHAMPIONNATS DU MONDE ROUTE UCI 16 au 24 septembre 2017 DOSSIER DE PRESSE Bergen, NORVEGE BERGEN (NORVEGE) Bergen est une ville du Sud-Ouest de la Norvège, capitale du comté de Hordaland. Elle est la deuxième ville du pays avec ses 280’000 habitants. C’est une cité internationale possédant le charme et l’atmosphère d’un petit village. “Porte d’entrée des Fjords de Norvège”, Bergen est classée patrimoine mondial par l’UNESCO et a le statut de Ville Européenne de la Culture. La côte de la région de Bergen est parsemée de milliers de petites îles. L’archipel et les majestueux fjords forment un paysage très varié. La ville est comme un spectaculaire amphithéâtre grimpant sur les flancs de la montagne, surplombant la mer et entourant ses visiteurs. La tradition et l’histoire se côtoient avec une scène culturelle très dynamique. L’héritage de la période hanséatique va de pair avec le statut actuel de Bergen comme Ville Européenne de la Culture. Les deux sont très visibles lorsqu’on se promène dans la ville. Bergen est protégée de la Mer du Nord par les îles Askøy, Holsnøy (la municipalité de Meland) et Sotra (les municipalités de Fjell, Sund et Øygarden). De par sa proximité avec la Mer du Nord et les Fjords, Bergen et sa région sont habituées à des conditions climatiques variées. Du ciel bleu clair à la joie de la pluie, les habitants de l’Ouest de la Norvège vivent avec la nature. Grâce au Gulf Stream (“courant du golfe”), le climat est bien meilleur que la latitude ne l’indique.

Polish people, however, did not stop fighng. Already in 1939 conspiratorial groups were formed, that in 1942 adopted the name of the Naonal Army. It was the largest of the conspiratorial European organizaons. Besides armed acons against the occupant equally important were reconnaissance acons, consisted of gaining and transferring materials about locaon, moves and intenons of the enemy, to the headquarters. One of the elements proving the efficiency of the intelligence network of the Polish underground state was the daily efforts by hundreds of people-couriers, who for many days with constant exposure of life, wandered throughout whole of Europe, carrying small but important parcels. This was informaon about the number of German troops transferred to parcular secons of the front line, or reports from the armaments factories, and also relaons of the situaon in concentraon camps. Courier’s acvity of the Polish underground state was twofold. On the one hand they dealt with spread of informaon from occupied territories, useful for conducng the war against the enemies of Poland; on the other hand they helped with transferring people from the Polish territory, threatened with arrest or death, to a safe place. This second form of acvity had a parcularly wide range on pre-war Southern borderland of our homeland. In the wide belt of the Beskydy and the Carpathians connued the movement of people crossing the border, either of life threatening or freedom reasons by the occupying regimes, as well as the desire to fight the occupying forces in the ranks of the regular army in western Europe.

Ons wielerhart gaat dus al sneller slaan als we eraan denken dat de wedstrijd dit jaar ook een ideale test is voor wielrenners die dromen van de regenboogtrui. Helpers en kopmannen, iedereen wilt “Leuven” in zijn benen zitten hebben. Maar ook zonder WK in het vooruitzicht heeft de Grote Prijs alles wat een wielerkoers nodig heeft: suspense, pittige hellingen en een mooi deelnemersveld. Wielerliefhebbers van over de hele wereld hebben 4 dus zondag 15 augustus met rood omcirkeld in hun agenda. Als stad zijn we ook dankbaar dat we voor deze wedstrijd kunnen rekenen op de sterke organisatie van de Koninklijke Stoempersclub, die al jaar en dag de Grote Prijs in goede banen leidt.

Hij was beroepsrenner in de jaren 50, 60 en 70 en behaalde 271 overwinningen op de weg én 805 overwinningen op de piste. Zo won hij twee keer de Ronde van Vlaanderen, twee keer Parijs-Roubaix, twee keer de Waalse Pijl, één keer Parijs-Brussel en één keer Milaan-San Remo. Hij werd drie keer Belgisch wegkampioen en 3 keer wereldkampioen. Daarbovenop was hij de snelste in verschillende étappes in de Ronde van Frankrijk, Italië en Spanje. In deze laatste In 2013 was het tien jaar geleden dat grote Rik, Rik Van won hij het puntenklassement. Volgens bronnen Steenbergen overleed. Er werden daarom ter ere van hem een zou hij in totaal ongeveer één miljoen kilometer aantal evenementen georganiseerd waaronder de veiling hebben gefietst. ‘Peugeot 404 Solo Van Steenbergen’, waarbij de opbrengst van de vijftig jaar oude auto naar het kinderkankerfonds ging. Bij zijn overwinning van Parijs-Roubaix in 1948 kreeg hij de “Gele Wimpel” uitgereikt, dit was de onderscheiding voor het hoogste uurgemiddelde Memorial Rik Van Steenbergen behaald in een internationale klassieker, namelijk 43,546 kilometer per uur.
