INVITATION April 9, 2014 at 15-17 To visit the Icebreaking Multipurpose Emergency and Rescue vessel Baltika

We warmly welcome you to celebrate the successful Russian-Finnish cooperation and the completing of SET Group’s Commitment for the Baltic Sea. The new icebreaking multipurpose emergency and rescue vessel Baltika is introduced to our partners and stakeholders April 9, 2014 at 15-17.00 at the Arctech Shipyard, Laivakatu 1, Helsinki.

Baltika represents a completely new type of innovative technology. She has an asymmetric hull, patented oblique design and three 360 degrees rotating propulsors, which allow the vessel to operate efficiently side- ways, astern and ahead. The design of the vessel is based on ARC 100 concept, which has been developed by Technology for Arctech Helsinki Shipyard. Baltika will be operated in the Gulf of Finland and will consid- erably improve the ice breaking and oil combat capabilities on the open sea in the eastern part of the Baltic Sea.

SET Petrochemicals´ Commitment to consult decision makers in Russian oil industry and transportation net- work on the development of environmental friendly oil recovery vessels was instrumental for the prepara- tions for signing of the shipbuilding order and for promoting the oil combat aspects of the new ship. The icebreaking multipurpose emergency and rescue vessel is built for the Russian Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport and to be operated by the FGI Gosmorspassluzhba (Russian Marine Emergency Rescue Service).

The event is organized by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard –responsible for building the vessel in cooperation with JSC Shipyard Yantar, SET Group, whose Commitment lead to the ordering of the multipurpose vessel and Baltic Sea Action Group, which seeks and monitors the Baltic Sea Commitments.
