Recommendation That Oxford County Council hold a public meeting pursuant to Section 17(15) and Section 51(2) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, to consider an application for Official Plan Amendment (File No. OP 12-06-6) and an application for draft plan of subdivision (File No. SB12-03-6); and further, That County Council approve the application by ATSA Corporation Inc. to redesignate the subject lands from “Industrial” to “Residential” and “Low Density Residential” to permit the development of a residential plan of subdivision. C-2 2013-1 Re: Application for Official Plan Amendment OP 12-04-8 – City of Woodstock Recommendation That Oxford County Council hold a public meeting pursuant to Section 17(15) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, to consider an application for Official Plan amendment for Application No. OP 12-04-8 (City of Woodstock); and further That County Council, at its regular meeting of January 9, 2013, approve an application by the City of Woodstock to amend the County of Oxford Official Plan to implement policies for regulating the location of methadone clinics and methadone dispensaries in the City of Woodstock. The people of Prescott have taken the first active step towards the commencement of this great undertaking. A large and respectable meeting of our townspeople, together with several gentleman from the surrounding country, was held at the Town Hall on Monday evening last, for the purpose of adopting measures for obtaining a survey of the route, procuring a charter, and completing the requisite preliminaries. Samuel Crane Esq. who we were glad to see takes a deep interest in this project, was called to the chair and John Patton, Esq. requested to set as Secretary. The chairman briefly stated the object of the meeting. Read Burritt, Esq. MPP opened the ball with some general operations upon the necessity that would exist, on the completion of the Ogdensburg Rail road, for an extension of the line from Prescott to By town, in order to enlite the trade of those two great provincial throughfares, the Ottawa and St Lawrence. The immense quantities of timber which in time will be required for the shipbuilding and other purposes of the Atlantic cities, will assuredly be drawn from the forests of the Ottawa and it was a matter not to be overlooked, and indeed the probability was very strong that on the repeal of the Navigation Laws, British and foreign shipowners would as a matter of economy, seek the banks of the St. Lawrence for the construction of the ocean ships.

The Boundary Committee for England is a committee of The Electoral Commission, an independent body set up by Parliament under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000. The functions of the Local Government Commission for England were transferred to The Electoral Commission and its Boundary Committee on 1 April 2002 by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (SI No. 3962). The Order also transferred to The Electoral Commission the functions of the Secretary of State in relation to taking decisions on recommendations for changes to local authority electoral arrangements and implementing them.
