(During the day the coach mobile number will be: 07895 152449) For more information and guidance on walking please visit our website – www.wirralramblers.org.uk A Walk Points range 18-23 Starting from Edgworth, we head N on the Witton Weavers Way to Wayoh Bridge. NE to Orel Cote Farm, onto Whowell Height and then N to join the Rossendale Way, which we follow generally E then S to Beetle Hill. TIme permitting, we will then take in Bull Hill and Harcles Hill on route to Peel Tower before heading back to Edgworth via Range House and Top of Quarlton. Distance: 24.1kms (15mls); Ascent: 686m (2,250ft); Walk Points: 19.5 B Plus Walk Points range 14-18 From Edgworth we go S to Turton Bottoms and Jumbles Reservoir. Then NW and W on the Witton Weavers Way (WWW) to the trig on Cheetham Close then towards Turton Heights. NW then NE on some rough paths to rejoin the WWW at Cadshaw. Then onto Turton and Entwistle reservoir and Wayoh reservoir and back to the coach. Distance: 19kms (11.5mls); Ascent: 500m (1,700ft); Walk Points: 15 B Minus Walk (WALK NOT RECCIED) Points range 11-14 We climb NE out of Edgworth to Longshaw Head then to Cattle Grid where we head out across Black Moss Moor to the trig at Bull Hill. We then join the Rossendale Way at Beetle Hill Head, heading south following the path around the MOD area crossing Holcolme Moor to Range House. From here we head west to Lower House then NW back to the coach. 1 point added for terrain. Distance: 15kms (8.7mls); Ascent: 365m (1,300ft); Walk Points: 12.5 C Walk Points range 7-11 We start in Edgworth through small housing estate to a path leading to Wayoh Reservoir. North to Edge Fold, a small road walk to the 'Strawberry Duck' onto path to Turton and Entwistle Reservoir. We follow the path around the reservoir to a car park and then south to Witton Weaver Way and Chapeltown. A short road walk onto Wayoh Reservoir Causeway and on to Edgworth and the coach. A very pleasant walk through forest and by Reservoirs. Distance: 12kms (7.5mls); Ascent: 335m (1,100ft); Walk Points: 9.5 D Walk Points range 5-7 We follow good tracks and paths that skirt the Turton and Entwistle and Wayoh Reservoirs through woods and along the shores undulating gently, with the chance of a comfort stop at the Strawberry Duck along the way. Please bring some Christmas baubles as we will decorate a tree on our way back.
