Fiche Pratique Xmind FICHE PRATIQUE : XMIND Les logiciels de carte heuristique Définition : Un logiciel de carte heuristique (cartes des idées, des schémas de pensée, des cartes mentales, des arbres à idées ou encore de topogramme) est un diagramme qui représente des liens sémantiques entre différentes idées ou des liens hiérarchiques entre différents concepts. A l’inverse du schéma conceptuel ou de la carte conceptuelle, la carte heuristique propose le plus souvent une représentation arborescente de données (Wikipédia 2011). Création d’organigramme, de cartes mentales, de diagrammes d’Ishikawa (en arrêtes de poissons), d’idées en arborescences, de tableurs. Fonctionnalités spécifiques : Personnalisation des cartes (style, police, image…), Export (image, texte…), import (FreeMind, Word, Pdf…), upload sur site internet (mise en ligne), proposition de plusieurs type de graphisme pour les cartes, gestion de projet, rendez vous, arbres descendants, liens entre les nœuds, étiquette, note et attachement, iconographie et liens. Accès au contenu : Le contenu de cette application est disponible sur Internet (sur le site de Xmind), sur clé USB ou sur un ordinateur équipé du logiciel Xmind. Il est aussi possible de partager ses pro- pres cartes avec des personnes sélectionnées. Processus d’installation : Le logiciel est facile à installer et se prend vite en main, sans l’intervention d’un technicien. Autoformation : Il existe de nombreux outils qui permettent d’apprendre à utiliser ce logiciel : fo- rum, guide, tutoriel (vidéo et textuel)… Interface : Sobre, belle et bien conçue Convivialité : facile d’utilisation, simple et efficace Utilité : « Esthétique et gratuit Xmind est un titulaire bien pratique qui vous permet d’organiser vos projets efficacement et de les partager sur Internet » (Teste Softonic.2011) « Xmind est un bon outil pour le « Brainstorming » en général mais on peut aussi l’utiliser pour or- ganiser un projet ou une présentation. Flexibilité : Facile de personnaliser les cartes (formes, couleur, style…). Compatible avec beaucoup d’autres logiciels de mapping. Possibilité de l’exporter dans des versions Word ou Powerpoint (version Windows) avec la version Pro. Massad Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Abstract Whether created manually or through the use of software, a non -linear information organization framework known as mind mapping offers an alternative method for capturing thoughts, ideas and information to lin ear thinking modes, such as outlining. Mind mapping is used in education, government and business as a creative method that is useful in training, brainstorming, organizing and problem solving. This paper examines mind mapping techniques, advantages and di sadvantages of hand -drawn maps and using mind mapping software. Several mind-mapping software applications are compared on a number of product dimensions. Survey results provide a descriptive profile of mind map users in education, government and business sectors. Keywords: mind mapping, mind mapping software, mind map user profile Profiling a mind map user, Page 1 Journal of Instructional Pedagogies Introduction to Mind Maps The mind mapping technique, along with the term “mind map,” originated with popular psychology author Tony Buzan (1970), who developed the technique as a way of helping people to learn more effectively. His work is partly based on the pioneering brain research of the 50’s as well as left/right brain work by Roger Wolcott Sperry (1968) which was later refined by Robert Ornstein (1977). The bod y of this research indicates that the human brain responds best to key words, images, colors, and direct association. Buzan refined these ideas into a simple set of rules that can be followed to create a maze of information known as a mind map.

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) therefore made an overview of the different possibilities. For this overview scientific literature has been reviewed, supplemented with sources on the Internet. This has been funded from the strategic research program (SOR) of the institute. Intensional/extensional A rather large and especially useful portion of our active vocabularies is taken up by general terms, words or phrases that stand for whole groups of individual things sharing a common attribute. But there are two distinct ways of thinking about the meaning of any such term. The extensional of a general term is just the collection of individual things to which it is correctly applied. Thus, the extension of the word "chair" includes every chair that is (or ever has been or ever will be) in the world. The intension of a general term, on the other hand, is the set of features which are shared by everything to which it applies. Thus, the intensional of the word "chair" is (something like) "a piece of furniture designed to be sat upon by one person at a time." Fig.
