Al via la 25a stagione di Top Gear con Matt Leblanc, Chris Harris, Rory Reyd e The Stig Il mondo della auto, e tutto ciò che si muove a motore, raccontato con una buona dose di humor tipicamente british e una parte di sana irriverenza: Top Gear è uno dei programmi più longevi della televisione, Da lunedì 13 maggio a partire dalle 21.30 su una pietra miliare dell'intrattenimento automobilistico. SPETTACOLINEWS.IT Immancabile la presenza di The Stig che nel corso della stagione metterà alla frusta bolidi come la McLaren 720S, la Ferrari 812 Superfast, la Chevrolet Camaro e la Alpine A110. Nel primo episodio della serie LeBlanc, Harris e Reid andranno nello Utah, per celebrare il 116° anniversario del V8. Qui testeranno delle nuove macchine che montano questo tipo di motore: LeBlanc guiderà una Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R, Reid una Jaguar F-Type SVR e Harris la McLaren 570GT. Il loro viaggio attraverso lo Utah sarà un perenne confronto per decretare l'auto migliore, ma il modo opportuno per stabilire un vincitore è gareggiare. La sfida infatti si risolverà in una gara combinata alla quale parteciperà anche The Stig, al volante di una Ford GT40. Nel secondo episodio LeBlanc e Harris vogliono dimostrare l'esistenza di Big Foot. Per farlo, si avventureranno nei boschi californiani, ovviamente utilizzando dei nuovissimi fuoristrada. Harris inoltre, proverà la nuova Pag. 1 / 2 McLaren 720S a Portimao, confrontandola con la P1, prima che Reid lo coinvolga in un nuovo gioco: "Corse in retromarcia". OV Newsletter 13 August 2021 OV’s Super Scholarship! Great news from OV Natasja Enthoven (W 14-19) who has recently been awarded the Hatfield College Ramsay Burn Scholarship 2021. This is a music scholarship to support her musical development in preparation for her Fellowship of Trinity College London (FTCL) Performance Diploma in solo pianoforte. The scholarship is awarded annually for a Hatfield College, Durham University student to undertake a significant and aspirational musical development activity. Natasja is currently at Durham studying Law. Commenting on her scholarship, Natasja said: “I am so grateful to Hatfield College for this substantial scholarship. I am going to use this to support my continued piano tuition in preparation for the FTCL diploma. I have been very fortunate to be able to continue with online virtual piano lessons throughout the Covid crisis with my teacher who lectures at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. I was also lucky to have the support from Hatfield College who allowed me to use their piano in the Chapel during this difficult time. “Now that restrictions have been eased, I hope that the virtual competitions and concerts that I have taken part in this year will be replaced with in-person ones, much like the concerts I performed in on the beautiful grand piano in College Hall as a Music Scholar at King’s Worcester.” Congratulations, Natasja! Regular targets for Top Gear presenter's protest – which are curtailed by broadcast guidelines in terms of gender and ethnicity -- are reflected in the 'soft' targets of government legislation on environmental issues or various forms of regulation ‘red tape’. Repeated references to speed cameras, central London congestion charges, and 'excessive' signage, are all anti-authoritarian, libertarian discourses delivered through a comedic form of performance address. Thus the BBC's primary response to complaints made about this programme is to defend the programme's political views as being part of the humour.
