FORTEC MOTORSPORTS have been consistent frontrunners in 3.5 Series for many years. But the British squad is yet to win the Teams’ title. However, odds are looking very good this year: FORTEC is currently leading both championships.

01:26 ITW # 3 In English “With me and Jazz, they’ve got a strong driver pairing. We’ve got two great engineers, we’ve got a great team, we’ve got two fast cars. I think we’d be pretty disappointed if we did not win it. Obviously we both want to win the drivers’ championship but I think it’s probably their best year for doing it. I am quite looking forward to it.”

01:48 Voice Over While “Olie” is in his second year with FORTEC, Jazeman JAAFAR joined the team over the winter. And it did not take him long to feel home within the squad.

01:57 ITW #4 Jazeman JAAFAR In English “I felt comfortable settling in, obviously, there’s a few adjustments with how the team works, how the car works. But I like the work ethic, how everyone puts in 110%, trying to get the max out of the drivers, trying to get everything perfect for the driving myself. I feel really happy to be here and to get some results in.” 02:22 Voice Over FORTEC have helped many talents, including , champion in 2012, and , runner-up the following season.

02:54 ITW Paul HEATH, Jazeman JAAFAR’s race engineer In English “I came to FORTEC to run in F3 in 1996. It started out as quite a small team in Formula Ford 2000 and it expanded into F3 and established the reputation and gradually evolved into F3000 and the formulas that have developed from that”.

03:21 ITW Ricky CASTELL – Oliver ROWLAND’s mechanic In English “For the last few years now we’ve had the same staff and we’ve grown and got loads of experience together now, that’s the main ingredient. 03:32 Voice Over This year, FORTEC MOTORSPORTS looks primed to finally end their win drought in the Teams’ championship.

03:44 ITW # 3 Jamie DYE – Fortec Motorsports Team Manager In English “The success that we have been having over the past few years is down to consistency with the team, the engineers and the mechanics. And also, we’re able to attract good drivers and we do the best job that we can”.

00:00 FEATURE RENAULT SPORT TROPHY

00:04 Intro clip – DO NOT TALK

00:26 ITW – Renault Ambassador In French “You feel you’re driving a true racing car. It has good cornering, that’s one of the car’s main qualities. There’s a lot of horsepower but you can manage it quite easily because the car’s handling is great and aerodynamics are very good.”

00:46 ITW Carlos SAINZ – Red Bull driver In English “I think Renault has done a really good job because it has managed to get the right balance between a responsive car similar to a formula

14

car with a touring baseline, which is what you want for people that don’t have much experience in cars.”

01:11 ITW – Red Bull driver In English “The grip was a lot more than I expected. I started off quite slow, not really knowing what to expect but it had good grip, mechanical through all the corners, it was nice. The power, the weight ratio was pretty good balance.

01:30 ITW Max VERSTAPPEN – Red Bull driver In English “A great car, I really enjoyed it. It feels like a formula car to be honest. It’s a bit heavier in the fast corners but still the down-force you have with the car is pretty amazing. I was quite surprised, really enjoyable to drive.”

01:50 ITW Jean-Pascal DAUCE / Renault Sport Technologies – Director of Motorsport In French “Quite an emotional moment for the first race here at Spa. A great car with a lot of down-force, a 550bhp Nissan GTR turbo , more performance than a GT3 car. We have a Pro-Am format, with an endurance race and two sprint events, so three races each weekend. We had good development drivers and it was nice to have F1 stars doing demo runs: Alain PROST, Daniel RICCIARDO, , and Max VERSTAPPEN. The car has a promising future.” 02:24 Voice Over The inaugural Renault Sport Trophy championship kicks off at Spa- Francorchamps. #8 Dario CAPITANIO and David FUMANELLI (ITA – Oregon Team) win the endurance race.

15

02:36 Voice Over Plenty of action across the field in the “PRESTIGE” Drivers sprint with #5 Diederik SIJTHOFF (NED – V8 Racing) claiming victory in the end.

#2 STONEMAN is P4 of this second race. Good performance from #17 Aurélien PANIS (FRA – TECH 1 RACING) with P7.

06:03 ITW #4 Oliver ROWLAND (GBR – FORTEC MOTORSPORTS) In English “Before the start of the race, they told us that the DRS was active all the way around, so it was a disadvantage for low down-force. I knew really I had to try to get Nyck into second and then I could pull away from him and have a gap in case of rain. The plan worked perfectly, I managed to stay in front on the first lap. The pace was comfortable. I was just looking at the sky the whole race. But brilliant, great job! To win today is what we wanted. I just have to score points all the time but winning obviously is fantastic. I think maybe I’m at the top of the championship now, that’s what we were searching here, so I’m happy.”

06:41 GFX Championship Classification (Drivers) #4 ROWLAND is the new championship leader, in front of #9 VAXIVIERE and #3 JAAFAR.
