Entries on line www.motorsportentry.com Then the ENEOS ENDURANCE SERIES CONFIRMS 2017 DATES - AND A RETURN TO PUKEKOHE PARK The 2017 ENEOS North Island Endurance championship is hoping for its best ever grids in the one hour and three hour races that will once again form the basis of this season. The three round championships blast off at the Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park on Saturday May 20th, before moving north to the Hampton Downs International Motorsport Park on June 24th and then concluding with a return to Pukekohe Park on July 22. There will once again be five classes offered to competitors, with Class 1, Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4 based on the capacity of the engine and an equivalency formula for turbocharged, supercharged or rotary engines and the top class being the GT class.

Lining-up for the opening season of the brand-new championship, which will bridge the gap between Formula 4 and the new FIA Formula 3 Championship, Vesti is a valuable addition to the team in its effort to get up to speed quickly in a brand-new technical and competitive environment. In his first few seasons in single seaters, Vesti achieved a fair share of success after scoring many impressive results in karting.     Sunday 6 September 2020 Hughes clinches victory ahead of Lawson in dramatic Race 2 at Monza Sunday’s action in Monza was the type of race which comes around once, maybe twice in a decade. A race so manic, so chaotic, that it’s difficult to make sense of it. Round 8’s FIA Formula 3 Race 2 was that race. Jake Hughes won from sixth, Lawson sealed second from P5 and Pourchaire completed the podium from ninth, but that barely even scratches the surface of the story. None of top three from the grid finished in the points, all three of the PREMAs retired, Alex Smolyar took fourth from 20th, Alex Peroni nabbed sixth from 16th, Pierre-Louis Chovet clinched seventh from 18th for his first F3 points, while Olli Caldwell snuck into the points from P29. At one point, Oscar Piastri was on course to stretch his Championship lead, but a four-car collision forced him to retire and robbed him of points. Logan Sargeant was handed first place in the Drivers’ standings as a result, with the PREMA racer somehow finding himself in fifth having started from 26th. But it proved to be temporary, as the American was also forced to retire after a coming together with teammate Frederik Vesti, which dramatically took them both out of the race. All the while, Hughes calmly stretched his lead out in front, letting the drama play out behind him, keeping his nose clean ahead of Liam Lawson. The duo would close out first and second, with Pourchaire making a late assault on the podium to finish in third place.

Following his victories at Monza and Zolder, the championship leader also won Saturday’s race at the Nürburgring. After the first half of the season, the South African, who lives near Kempten, has a 33-point lead in the drivers’ championship. In the teams’ championship, ABT Sportsline is also at the top of the table after the first half of the 2021 DTM season. Saturday was a picture-perfect day for ABT Sportsline: Kelvin van der Linde secured pole position for the third time this season with a perfect qualifying lap and then celebrated a commanding victory. On the way, he only had to shake twice when late stoppers Timo Glock and Alex Albon put up a massive fight against the ABT driver. The South African stayed cool, grabbed the two opponents and, after crossing the finish line, ordered an ice cream from SAT.1 commentator Eddy Mielke, which was promptly served to him by colleague Andrea Kaiser at the podium ceremony. Walter Kolb accepted the trophy for the winning team. The 73-year-old pensioner from Isny had auctioned a seat at the pit stand of ABT Sportsline for the race at the Nürburgring by donating 6,000 Euros for the victims of the flood disaster in the region. The DTM was the first race event after the flood at the Nürburgring. Before the start of the race, children affected by the flood had visited the ABT Sportsline pit and were even allowed to hold the steering wheel of the eventual winning car in their hands before the race.
