Columns/rows may not total 100% due to rounding. ---------------SELF-IDENTIFIED NON-HISPANICS WITH HISPANIC ANCESTRY---------------- This topline contains data from two surveys of adults with Hispanic ancestry or heritage: a survey of “self- identified Hispanics” and a survey of “self-identified non-Hispanics.” The sample of self-identified Hispanics includes U.S. adults who answered “Yes” to the question “Just to confirm, are you, yourself of Hispanic or Latino origin or descent?” The sample of self-identified non-Hispanic adults includes U.S. adults who indicated they do not consider themselves to be Hispanic or Latino but have some form of family ancestry rooted in Latin America or Spain. This population was selected through a question in a national general population omnibus survey that asked “Are you of Hispanic origin or descent?” – Respondents who answered “no” were then asked a series of ancestry screening questions. A respondent that indicated that a parent, grandparent, or an earlier ancestor or descendant had some Latino or Hispanic ancestry were then considered part of this sample.
