66 — Perth Coastal Recreational Use Study City of Nedlands Swanbourne North Street Town of Cottesloe Station An urban connector runs between Swanbourne and North C3 Cottesloe Beach, with the dog beach ending just south of

Grant St Vera View Parade. The connector contains street parking, Station showers, lookout points and artwork at numerous points N3 along the shared path that runs through it. The connector also marks the start of the Cottesloe Reef Fish Habitat Area, Curtin Ave discussed further in the next map.

North and Main Cottesloe Beaches share many of the same Cottesloe Beach N4 Cottesloe Station infrastructure and uses: including SLS Clubs; cafes and restaurants both at and adjacent to the node; along with beach wheelchair hire and access. Both beaches are patrolled during summer months, with high use for general water- C3 Parade Marine based recreation, snorkelling and surfing – albeit with surfing only permitted at the main beaches during winter months. Mosman Park rather than moderate activity node are the presence of more Station extensive commercial and tourist development adjacent to the node, as well as its use for significant special events such as beach volleyball tournaments and Sculptures by the C3 Victoria St Station Sea (see major activity node example on page 27 for more information). There are also greater park-based recreational

Town of Cottesloe opportunities – with a playground, fitness equipment and Town of Mosman Park beach volleyball facilities – and fishing on the south side of the groyne (Photo 14A). Further south, Cottesloe Beach 0 200 500m 1km Map 14B: aification has a unique cultural area - the Mudurup Rocks - which is a significant Aboriginal heritage site that also includes the Legend Sundial (Photo 14B) and Arch Monument.

Beach Access Urban N1 Node C3 Connector Urban connectors continue south of Cottesloe, with several

Minor additional designated surfing spots, a kite and windsurfing N2 Activity Node spot, and supporting infrastructure (see urban connector Moderate example on page 33 for more information). South Cottesloe N3 Activity Node Beach is classified as a minor activity node, with exercise Major Photo 14B: Sundial monument south of Cottesloe Beach. N4 Activity Node equipment, car parking and play equipment north of the groyne, with a dog beach starting to the south and stretching to Mosman Park. A final feature just north of Mosman Park is the Vlamingh Memorial.
