Fokus i uppdraget var att påvisa om salafistiska jihadistbudskap aktivt sprids i Sverige och vilka metoder som i så fall används. Informationspåverkan inom de salafistiska jihadistmiljöerna i Europa är ett förhållandevis nytt forskningsområde, och det saknas idag i stor utsträckning studier och forskning på området i en svensk kontext. Uppdraget syftade till att förbättra samhällets förmåga att identifiera och möta islamistiska aktörers informationspåverkan och därigenom stödja såväl operativa som förebyggande åtgärder. Målet var att öka kunskapen om de metoder som kan ligga bakom informationspåverkan som bedrivs av salafist- jihadistiska inspirerande aktörer mot sekulära och muslimska målgrupper i Sverige. Vid sidan om internet angavs fysiska miljöer i Sverige vara av särskilt intresse. Denna omfattande och väl genomarbetade rapport har ett något vidgat perspektiv till att också beskriva relationen mellan salafistiska och salafist- jihadistiska miljöer. Därmed belyses ett tidigare helt obeforskat område i svensk kontext, vilket ger ny kunskap om såväl de specifika formerna för informationspåverkan inom de aktuella miljöerna, samt samspelet dem emellan. Slutsatserna leder också till tänkvärda förslag om nya kunskapsbehov. Summary Summary The conflict in Syria and Iraq has resulted in an increase in the number of violent Islamist extremists in Sweden, and a significant increase of people from Sweden travelling to join terrorist groups abroad. Since 2012 it is estimated that about 300 people from Sweden have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join terrorist groups such as the Islamic State (IS) and, to a lesser extent, al-Qaeda affiliated groups such as Jabhat al-Nusra. Even though the foreign fighter issue has been on the political agenda for several years and received considerable media attention, very little is known about the Swedish contingent.

This comprehensive report is one of the outcomes of that initiative. It represents the first time in the EU that data on antisemitism has been collected systematically, using common guidelines for each Member State. The national reports delivered by the RAXEN network provide an overview of incidents of antisemitism, the political, academic and media reactions to it, information from public opinion polls and attitude surveys, and examples of good practice to combat antisemitism, from information available in the years 2002 – 2003. On receipt of these national reports, the EUMC then asked an independent scholar, Dr Alexander Pollak, to make an evaluation of the quality and availability of this data on antisemitism in each country, and identify problem areas and gaps.     ISLAMIC RADICALIZATION IN NORWAY: PREVENTATIVE ACTIONS Tuva Julie Engebrethsen Smith (Research Assistant, ICT) Spring 2015 ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to analyse the process of radicalization of Muslims in Norway. The paper begins by outlining the Muslim population, demographics, mosques, organizations, as well as political participation. The paper further presents a theoretical approach to radicalization while looking at the issue of radicalization in Norway. After this section, follows some case studies of Norwegian foreign fighters in Syria and supporters of terrorist attacks in Africa. At last, the government´s response to radicalization in Norway is outlined, with a following conclusion that explains the increase of among Norway´s population.
