The site was part of the Dominican Beverley Friary Scheduled Ancient Monument. A modern path was thought to seal archaeological remains, and an east-west chalk foundation was probably related to the construction of the Friary. Any remains were not thought to be threatened by the development, but a programme of archaeological works was thought to be required. [Au(adp)]

Made ground with 13th century structural evidence was the earliest feature to be found on the site. Further 14th century dumping had obscured this, and contained pits with chalk and rubbish backfilled as consolidation. A timber building had been laid on this. This was replaced by a brick building up to the 15th-16th century, which was robbed out in the 17th century and sealed below levelling deposits. The phases of the site were dated by pottery and other finds. [Au(adp)]

To the south of the farm buildings a sequence of features dating to the medieval period and post-medieval period were found. The fields to the west of the farm complex also contained features of medieval date, which again related to the occupation of the priory. These included pits and gullies sealed by medieval to modern ploughsoil, but no evidence for stone masonry buildings/structures. The trenches excavated in this field also found some undated features which may have been of an earlier pre-priory phase of activity. Also the foundations of a medieval wall were found and in another trench evidence revealed substantial robbed walls, which were interpreted to be parts of the original priory complex. These were dismantled during the mid-17th century. This evaluation had shown that in addition to the Grade I Listed building, the site also contained below ground medieval remains relating to the Cistercian nunnery. [Au(adp)]

Medieval evidence was found in one trench beneath a cellar suggesting that there had been ground raising. Late 18th century activity included the wide spread construction of cellars across much of the site. The presence of a burial confirmed the location of a disused cemetery. Redevelopment of the area would have had an impact upon the archaeology of the site. [Au(adp)]

A series of deposits were recorded during an evaluation as part of a new development on the site. Medieval remains were represented by a series of pits, possibly denoting domestic activity potentially associated with occupation towards the frontage of the site. This was thought to date to the 14th or 15th century. More limited post-medieval activity in the form of pits and a culvert were also present, overlain by levelling deposits that predated the 1930s/1940s construction of the garage complex. [Au(adp)]
