This course recreated a mock “audition room” to prep students for the professional world. These auditions included theater, TV, film, commercial, and industrial auditions. Responsibilities included coaching and giving feedback on monologues, callbacks, cold readings, and interviews. Teaching Assistant Movement Studio II - Graduate Level 805 January – May 2014 Graduate level stage combat class focused on theories and terminology, principles of safety, and partnering skills in the disciplines of quarter staff and rapier & dagger. Also covered is the application and incorporation of acting principles in choreographic sequences. Requirements included assisting in weapon demonstrations as well as providing direction and feedback to students, based on the Society of American Fight Directors Skills Proficiency Test. Teaching Assistant September – December 2012 Acting I 101 - Introduction to Acting Theater major acting course introducing students to professional theater practices. Requirements included lecturing on script analysis, giving students feedback on monologue and scene work, and directing improvisational exercises to encourage character and scene development. Michigan State University, Study Away Program Los Angeles, CA Teaching Assistant April – August 2013 Topics of Acting 404 - Business Advanced acting class focusing on marketing and business for actors. This course included teaching students how to build a personal website and brand, self-promotion, and practices when seeking talent representation. Responsibilities included coordinating several meetings and lectures at University of Southern California, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures Studios, and Paramount Pictures Studio. Responsibilities included aiding students in film production, aiding in lectures, scheduling guest lecturers, and leading several networking and alumni events in the Los Angeles area. Teaching Assistant Media Directing 303 April – August 2013 Film production class focused on the breakdown of a film with an emphasis on writing, acting, directing, and cinematography. Responsibilities included reading and grading students’ written film critiques on 22 assigned films analyzing each in historic content and daily video logs focusing on guest lecturers and tours at Universal Studios, Sony, and Paramount Pictures Studio.
