The City of will repair the safety barrier on the Prince Edward Viaduct over the Don River in order to bring the viaduct to a state of good repair.

This work is part of the Council-approved 2020 Capital Works Program to renew aging city for current and future needs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19 AND CONSTRUCTION WORK IN TORONTO The Province of Ontario has enacted a declaration of emergency to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and protect the public. A list of essential workplaces in Ontario was announced on March 23 and revised on April 3. As indicated on the list, City-led infrastructure construction has been deemed essential and this project will proceed. This construction is essential to ensure the City's infrastructure remain safe, in a state of good repair and able to meet Toronto’s needs. Page 1 of 2 Pre-Construction Notice WORK DETAILS The City’s contractor will: • Make adjustments to the barrier's moving parts • Replace or repair damaged connections and repair damaged sections of the handrail • Complete repairs under the deck while suspended from the barrier • Suspend from the barrier to complete repairs under the bridge deck WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE CONSTRUCTION • Work crews will mark the locations of underground utilities, such as gas, water and cable so that the construction work does not interfere with these utilities. • Affected properties will receive a Construction Notice approximately two weeks before work begins with more information about the work.

Accessible Accommodation: Residents who require accommodation (level entry, longer notice, etc.) must contact the Project Manager to arrange for access during the construction period.
