With 60-plus years of combined design and marketing experience, ROTATOR is able to deliver a full complement of design in all mediums, marketing and strategy expertise with quick turns and effective solutions to achieve the necessary outcomes. THE BIG PICTURE. The ROTATOR team has worked side-by-side for years but we have recently come together to create a unique and powerful offering in the South Sound region. Lance Kagey is considered one of the areas leading artists, designers and community builders. Lance connects. Art & design is his calling, but always toward the goal of connecting, neighbor to neighbor, business to client, problem to solution. He’s a street artist, a business leader, a community stirrer- upper. He is, most notably, the cofounder of the wildly successful guerrilla art project, Beautiful Angle — which has been going now for 14 years. But more about that later. Scott Varga has been working in the creative industry for the past twenty-five years, He has helped lead, inspire and build creative teams in various capacities for both agencies and corporations. Scott makes things go. He designs mobile sites, puts graphics in motion, turns the digital into the experiential. He builds houses and hot rods. From scratch. Like magic. But it’s not magic. It’s, you know, design. Mark Alvis is deep in the Tacoma music and art scene. Besides being a brilliant designer, he has an alter ego as a nationally sought-after drummer. He brings this sense of rhythm, order and finesse to all of his creative problem solving. The artistic work that Mark produces is always stunningly crafted. Prior to this venture, all three owners worked for Russell Investments as part of their in-house Marketing and Communications group (see resumes for further details). We officially began this current iteration back in the fourth quarter of last year. Over the last ten years, we have dealt regularly with fast twitch solutions, in a broad range of media delivery, that needed to be highly effective while still having very short timelines. BUSINESS DETAILS: Lance Kagey ROTATOR LLC 1730 Pacific Ave Suite 303 UBI: 602 992 279 Tacoma, WA 98402 EIN: 27-2170334 253.861.1056 [email protected] EMPLOYEES Lance Kagey, OWNER PARTNER Scott Varga, OWNER PARTNER Mark Alvis, OWNER PARTNER EXPERIENCE & STAFFING ROTATOR is a team of three. This small nimble group delivers a comprehensive set of services. Our extensive past experience includes the full range of creative output — interactive/digital, video/photography/motion graphics, print and branding, full immersion event and experience design and mobile first executions. We have done ideation, concepting, production and management throughout all these various modes. FIRM QUALIFICATIONS ROTATOR, with more than 60 years of combined experience, has delivered interactive/digital/web solutions from the birth of this technology. Scott, who leads our digital work, is a leading technology expert in the region. We have deep connections with Tacoma and great passion for this project particularly. Our studio is intentionally located on the Prairie Line. Using our extensive skillset to help tell this vital, historic narrative is perfectly suited with how we align our mission as a leading design firm in the region. The primary experience that informs our digital media executions is exemplified in the full implementation of Russell Investments digital presence — from social media to web and microsite design/ implementation. The financial industry is highly regulated which means that our work has to be both dynamically functional and highly secure. RESEARCH & DISCOVERY 1 Through comprehensive analysis, evaluation, and investigation, we gain insight into the opportunities and desired outcomes that we focus on. From this process, we establish a requirements document, set our schedules, identify potential hurdles and confirm scope. STAKEHOLDER/SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT INTERVIEWS As part of the kick-off and initial research we want to understand the potential, paradigm, constraints, challenges as well as the broad brushstrokes of content resources that we will want to address for this project. Included in this process would be input from the technical team to understand variables effecting technology choices, which will reveal strengths and weaknesses that should be part of a comprehensive solution. CONTENT REFINEMENT 2 We will work closely with the content team to determine what narratives are supported and how we rank those in such a way to create a strong hierarchy of storytelling that engages the audience without overwhelming them with minutia. This will clearly need to be a combination of strong visuals with concise copywriting. And then we will want to determine how to capture the exhaustive detail for documentation purposes so that the breadth and depth of this significant history can be contained within this one solution. We feel we have a strong advantage because we are already deeply immersed in the content, which informs our approach from the very beginning. DESIGN/UX/DEVELOPMENT 3 The discovery phase will inform our decision regarding information architecture (IA). This, in turn, will inform potential design directions. We would likely present two concepts as sketches, rough wireframes and storyboards that describe effective architecture to help create
