Kapanadze Alice Savadyan PROJECT NAME AND SITE DESCRIPTION Description of the Project The main purpose of the sub-project is the improvement of pastures watering network in Sarukhan community providing sufficient water supply for 1624 bovine cattle and 726 small cattle directly in the pasture. The following construction activities will be implemented under the proposed sub-project: Construction of water collection chamber Installation of 12 403 m length (D= 63x4 mm) water way, connected to water main, operated by Sarukhan community Installation of 484 m length (D= 50x3.7mm, P=1.25 m ) pipeline for connection to metallic troughs Construction of semi-pipes three metallic troughs 30 m length each, installed on concrete - cobblestone platform. Installation of 4 regulation and 9 pressure braking chambers The design for pastures watering network has been developed by the ANUSHIK JRER design company under the contract concluded with Agricultural Project Implementation Unit. Project implementation area, community Republic of Armenia, Gegharkunik marz, Sarukhan community Project site location Project implementation area is located at a distance of 127 km from Yerevan city, and in 12 km from Sarukhan Community Agricultural Resource Management and Competitiveness Project II Environmental Management Plan 2 community. Waterway will be connected to Spitakasar natural water source located in Lanjaghbyur Community, for which Sarukhan, Lanjaghbyur and Karmir Commuities Heads signed trilateral Agreement on use of the community lands within their administrative area for the construction of pasture stock-watering systems in Karmir and Sarukhan communities under the Project Land ownership Land required for the project implementation belongs to community. Description of geographic, physical, The sub-project site is located in Gegharkunik marz, in biological, geological, hydrographic and Sarukhan community area. Sarukhan is located on eastern socio-economic context part of Sevan lake, located on Gegahama mountain chain, summer pastures are located on 2406-2850 m, above sea level and winter pastures 1965-2075 m above sea level. Climatic conditions of the Sarukhan possesses is mild mountainous. The winter is cold, snowy. The summer is warm, few clouds, comparatively humid weather. The Sevan Lake mitigates the winter frost and summer heat. Because of the lake, the average temperature in January is almost the same as in Yerevan. Precipitation is not abundant, 400- 450mm on the lake surface, up to 1000 in the mountains. Locations and distance for material Water for construction works will be provided by water sourcing, especially aggregates, water, cistern track. Aggregates and machinery will be obtained stones from the licensed providers within the project area. Contractor may choose to extract equipment himself, in which case contractor must obtain an extraction license prior to commencement of extraction. Metallic and PE pipes as well as all fittings will be purchased from an official supplier.
