Backstage talked to Erland Galjaard about the FAMILY programme and asked what makes it so popular. ENTERTAINMENT The Netherlands – 18 October 2012 RTL 4 Linda de Mol 4 Imagine a Saturday evening show unlike any other: a mixture of quiz, game and panel show. But in a whole lot of humour and related everything to one topic: your home country. What you end up with might be something like: Ik Hou Van Holland. The show is presented by Linda de Mol, a celebrity in the Netherlands who is also popular in Germany due to Traumhochzeit and other shows broadcast on RTL Television. “You need a strong host for this kind of show,” says Erland Galjaard, Programme Director at RTL 4. “And we got one in Linda.” She is supported by two fellow hosts: Jeroen van Koningsbrugge and Guus Meeuwis who head the two panels. Team Jeroen and Team Guus consist of three Dutch celebrities from different generations – one in their twenties, one in their thirties and one in their forties – who each compete against one another in various kinds of games. “These games are mostly knowledge-based,” explains Galjaard. “Like ‘Spelling’ for example, which can turn out to be quite hilarious when a celebrity does not know exactly how a word is spelled.” Other games include questions about famous television moments or about Dutch history. Germany – 12 October 2012 Stefan Franz playing Rolf Jäger The web series Des Jägers Herz, produced by Grundy UFA’s Digital Drama department, runs from 22 October 2012 for a period of fi ve weeks. In parallel to the Unter Uns storylines on TV the fi ve-part web format can be seen exclusively on RTL.de. However, the episodes will not only be a big deal on the internet – from mid-April 2013, fans of the series can look forward to Des Jägers Herz being a key element of the Unter Uns storyline on TV. Grundy UFA Digital Drama and RTL Interactive are thereby creating a series in which parallel web and TV storylines dovetail with each other. This exciting new series will have the audience following the format not only on their TV screens, but also on the internet.” The web series follows the fate of Rolf Jäger who, after murdering the policewoman Rebecca Mattern in the series, records his emotions ranging from anger, loneliness and deliriousness via webcam from his place of exile in South American. Over fi ve episodes, users and viewers are given an in-depth look into Rolf’s states of mind and his inner turmoil in his hideout.

El propó- sito fue entender cómo la gestualidad evidenciada genera una brecha entre las características infantiles del talent show y los significados implementa- dos en performances previamente determinadas. Este estudio cualitativo (con investigación bibliográfica, análisis de contenido, análisis estructural) pre- senta argumentos sobre aspectos que implican producciones en formatos y se establece por el sesgo de análisis que reconoce el gesto como elemento de comunicación con significativo impacto en la performance mediatizada técnicamente. Por último, esta investigación señala que la brecha entre la es- pecificidad infantil del programa y la gestualidad (implementada en actuacio- nes previamente determinadas) se apoya en el uso de gestos con significados orientados a la esfera adulta y que el repertorio también puede reforzar esta perspectiva. 1. ABSTRACT The main objective of this study is to apply the uses and gratifications approach to investigate “The Voice of China”, the most successful talent show in china for past two years. The research examines the motives for watching and satisfaction of audience through comparing the gratifications sought and gratifications obtained. A quantitative survey is be used to collect data. The samples are selected by convenience sampling method and all of the samples are 231. The mean and standard deviation are tabulated and analyzed by using paired sample t-test. The finding suggests that the primary motives for watching “The Voice of China” among Chinese audiences are social interaction, entertainment and relaxing, but not vicarious participation or perceived reality.     The Voice est une émission de télévision de télé-crochet musical créée en Hollande. The Voice of Holland a eu un très gros succès, ce qui a très vite intéressé les États- Unis et ensuite les pays de l’Europe. En ce moment, elle est l’émission de télé- crochet la plus regardée en Europe. En France The Voice, la plus belle voix est arrivée en France le 25 février 2012 et a réuni 8 millions de téléspectateurs. Quatre saisons ont déjà été diffusées à la télévision. L'émission est présentée par Nikos Aliagas et les quatre coachs sont Jenifer, Garou, Louis Bertignac et Florent Pagny. Les auditions à l’aveugle C’est un mélange d'émissions qui ont déjà fait leurs preuves, comme Super Idol, Nouvelle Star, Star Académie et The X Factor. The Voice a un petit truc en plus, qui fait la différence : les talents sont d'abord sélectionnés à l'aveugle. Les quatre coachs sont assis dans de fauteuils et tournent le dos aux aspirantes pop stars. Les candidats sont ainsi jugés uniquement sur le son de leur voix. Quand un candidat plait à un coach, ce dernier presse un bouton, ce qui fait tourner son fauteuil. Si plusieurs jurés décident de faire face au candidat, celui-ci peut choisir lequel sera son coach personnel. Si aucun des jurés ne se retourne, le candidat repart tout simplement. Les Batailles Les candidats sélectionnés sont partagés en équipes et sont coachés par l'un des membres du jury, à la manière de The X Factor. S'en suive l'épreuve des "Battles" où les candidats s'affrontent sur scène La scène est aménagée comme un ring, ce qui augmente le stress et l'émotion.
