Science Programs

Black Hawk College offers programs in Horticulture Science to meet every student’s interest and need, whether a class or two with the goal to gain knowledge in an area of interest, a one year certificate, two year AAS degree, or preparation for university transfer. Diverse vocational opportunities in areas such as nursery and management, grounds keeping, design, turf and golf course management, care service, natural resource management, and market farming are but a few examples of career fields related to horticulture. Courses and laboratory exercises provide technical knowledge and hands on experience laying the groundwork for satisfying careers in the laying the groundwork for satisfying careers field, while instructors work directly with oad students to assist in identifying their area of concentration and prospective employment upon program completion.
