Matthew Mitas: REMEMBER THAT JULY IS THE MONTH OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS! THE AIR-CONDITIONER It should be fully repaired this weekend. If it’s not, then we’re having Mass in the lunchroom again. (I’m having to write this on June 30, so I don’t know what will transpire in the next few days, so this is the best I can do!) DO YOU LIKE GOOD MUSIC? IN CONCERT: MAESTRO DANIEL KUEHLER Next Sunday, July 16, former parishioner and student at the ultra-prestigious Eastman School of Music, Daniel Kuehler, will again give us an afternoon of his virtuoso performance on the grand piano. It will take place in the lunchroom at 3:00PM. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for attending, but the hat will be passed to help pay for Danny’s further education and formation. Many of you remember his performance last year; it was sensational! Many of you will also remember him from the days when he used to play for the Masses here at St. Angela. It looks to be another great event for our parish…plan on being here next Sunday! TO HONOR THE PATRON OF OUR ARCHDIOCESE AND CELBRATE THE FRENCH HERIT- AGE OF FLORISSANT It is now official: on Friday, August 25, the Feast of St. Louis IX, King of France, we will host another even- ing of gourmet ethnic food. Since our German food night was such a resounding success, we thought we’d try it again. And so Der Kochmeister (“cooking master”) Don Krause, who is also Le Maitre Chef de la Cuisine (“Master Chef of the Kitchen”), and his crew are going to whip up a buffet of French delicacies, from the vichichoise to the tarte tatin for our enjoyment and to celebrate the great French heritage of our town and arch- diocese. We hope to turn our lunchroom into a “little Paris” and provide an evening of elegant fare in Gallic surroundings. Plan on being there (and spread the word!). NEW PARISH PICTURE BOOK I mentioned this in the “upcoming events” last week without amplification, so here it is: this November, our parish is going to put together another photo directory of our parishioners. We’ve done this several times al- ready in our 56-year history, the last time being for the 50th anniversary celebration in 2012. That’s six years ago, and that’s just about the normal interval between the different issues of the volume. You know the drill: 1) you make an appointment to get your picture taken, 2) you show up and have your picture taken, 3) they show you your proofs and try to sell you prints of them, 4) whether you buy prints or not, they give you a free 8x10 of your sitting, plus a free copy of the finished directory, just for showing up, and 5) you receive your print and book when they are ready. More later, stay tuned… UPCOMING EVENTS - Sunday, July 16: in concert – former parishioner and musician, Danny Kuehler.
