MARKETING ASSISTANT

The School St Gabriel’s is an independent day school founded in 1929, which incorporates Sandleford, our EYFS provision. At present, there are approximately 500 pupils in the School. Sandleford Priory dates back to the early Middle Ages and is set in a beautiful Grade 1 listed building within 33 acres of Capability Brown parkland, which provides a gracious setting in which to work. Over the last four years, there has been continued investment in facilities, including new science laboratories, refurbishment of the School Theatre, upgrading the ICT infrastructure, and providing floodlights for the netball courts.

In the 2019 ISI inspection, the school was rated Excellent in all areas, indicating the balanced excellence that has been created in this forward thinking setting.

Our excellent examination results speak for themselves. At A level, we saw 70% of grades at A*/A compared to 29.5% nationally. We also saw 95% of entries achieve an A*-B grade which compared to 56.8% nationally with our pupils going on to study a wide range of subjects at top universities. Our value added at A level was excellent this year and put us in the top 3% of schools nationally. At GCSE, 100% of grades at GCSE level were at 9-4.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 1. General Administration

Social Media  Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Admissions contribute to the development of the School’s social media strategy;  In line with the School’s social media strategy, create and publish engaging content to the School’s social media channels including recent events and announcements, as well as recruitment-focused posts;  Execute and manage organic and paid social media advertising campaigns;  Provide social media performance data to the Director of Marketing and Admissions on a monthly basis;  Following educational specialists on social media to look for opportunities to contribute to discussions online and build relationships with them.

Website  Maintain the website, updating it regularly with images, news, video and new copy as appropriate, in liaison with Director of Marketing and Admissions and Admissions Assistant.  Co-ordinate contributions of news from staff and pupils;  Carry out regular audits on the website to ensure all information is correct and up to date and to maintain efficiency and functionality within the site;  To drive traffic to the website through digital and non-digital initiatives;  Provide website performance data to the Director of Marketing and Admissions on a monthly basis;  Looking at the content of the information on the website with a view to maximizing Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and making any recommendations;  Updating educational websites and online directories where information for the School is held.

Marketing communications and support  Assist in creating promotional materials, including prospectus, magazines, digital advertising, offline advertising etc;  Under the direction of, and with the support of the Director of Marketing & Admissions, develop internal and external marketing communications and marketing campaigns;  To be responsible for co-ordinating photography/video of school life and events for communication purposes;  Monitor competitor activity and changes in the local education market.

2. Skills  Excellent communication skills both written and oral;  Good copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to different writing styles across different media;  Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, show flexibility plan accordingly and react appropriately, when prioritizing work;  Responsible and organised with meticulous attention to detail;  Knowledge of existing and emerging web tools and social media platforms;  Capable user of website content management systems, social media interfaces and the analytics tools to track and monitor performance;  Ability to build and form working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues, to work across operational boundaries;  IT literate and confident about learning new packages. Thorough knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and entering and extracting data from databases for reporting and communications;  A supportive team player;  Self-motivated, kind, confident and hard-working.

3. Education/Experience • Educated to A-level or equivalent standard as a minimum; • Previous experience of working in a marketing team environment in an educational or service industry is desirable; • Digital marketing qualifications (desirable).

This is a full year role; 37.5 hours per week

Salary Circa £22,000 and contributory pension scheme.
