Watch blacksmiths, meet Santa, or take a guided tour about the history of Euless! FREE! Sat, Jan 1 1 Christmas Tree Recycling Event 10am- 1pm Euless Family Life Aquatic Park Parking Lot 300 W. Midway Dr. Don't throw away your Christmas tree, help the city by recycling it. The city can use this mulch throughout the year to maintain city parks and medians. Sat, Feb 8 Daddy / Daughter Valentines Dance 5 - 6:30pm & 7 - 8:30pm Euless Family Life Senior Center, 300 W. Midway Dr. Tickets $10 per person, available for sale starting January 3, 2020. Dads, uncles & grandpa's, grab your favorite little lady and enjoy an evening of dancing, refreshments, photos and so much more! Euless Family Life Center 300 W. Midway Dr. Join us for our Annual Arbor Daze celebration! This is a free family event with tons of fun, live music and entertainment! 4 VOLUNTEERS Join our Family o f Volunteers! Join our Family of Volunteers and help give back to our community. Each year our department plans and implements several different family events. Each one of our events needs volunteers to help make it successful. Some of our events include, Arbor Daze, Movies in the Park, the Jr. Anglers event, Halloween Trunk or Treat, and two Christmas events. If you would like to help build a strong community, play an important role in someone's life and be a part of something exciting, then join our "Family of Volunteers"." Ector Dr. Safely dispose of hazardous waste from your home, such as paint, chemicals and oil. Space is limited so please only bring hazardous waste. The mobile collection unit can accept material from approximately 125 households. You may also bring any small electrical appliance you would like to recycle such as computers, radios, VCRs, stereos, clocks and hair dryers. Ector Dr The Euless Small Business Association is sponsoring Shred Day. This is a drive-through disposal for your discarded papers and documents for shredding. "You Shredding" will be conducted on-site. Papers may contain thin metals, such as staples, paperclips or even rubber bands. Please do not bring CDs, jump drives, three-ring binders or plastic bags. You may bring up to 10 boxes per vehicle of paper in standard- size (15”x12”x10”) boxes or paper grocery bags. For questions, please call 817-685-1821. Mayor's Holiday Kickoff Thursday, December 5, 7:00pm Glade Parks Plaza, 300 block of Chisholm Trail Come celebrate the holiday season with the Mayor! We're going to enjoy the winter season with hot chocolate and cider while listening to the DFW Tuba Choir play some beautiful Holiday songs. CITY 6 EVENTS Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 14, 9 - 11am Texas Star Conference Centre, 1400 Texas Star Parkway Santa is stopping by Texas Star to enjoy a delicious breakfast with yo u and y our family . Along with breakfast w i th Santa, lo cal elves will have fun crafts for children of all ages. Bring y our camera for a picture with Santa. Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended. The Cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford and the HEB Chamber are partnering to provide highschoo l juniors and seniors in the area an opportunity to learn about local government and the dif ferent partnerships within the community. HISTORICAL PRESERVATION 8 FREE Monthly Euless Heritage Museum Tours 201 Cullum Drive / 817-685-1649 Open the 2nd Saturday of every month from 1 – 5p.m. The tour begins at the Euless Heritage Museum where you will learn about Euless’ rich history and continues to the Fuller House, the first brick house in Euless built in 1932 com- plete with antique furnishings. Also on site, you will see the McCormick Barn. The Barn is made out of lumber hauled in by horse and buggy from Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. Then, you will discover daily life as it was in Euless in the 1850’s as you tour the Himes Log House, the oldest surviving structure in Euless. On the grounds, you will see examples of a water well, farm implements, windmill, a blacksmith shop, and an outhouse. Group tours are available during off hours, depending on availability.
