27 August 2010 A JOURNEY INTO THE MAKE-BELIEVE Family Pops II at QPAC Queensland Pops Orchestra’s Family Pops is back and more magical than ever before at Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Concert Hall. This must-see performance for families features an afternoon of orchestral music and songs from some of the most popular modern animated films in one show only on Saturday 2 October. Performed by Barrie Gott’s Queensland Pops Orchestra, Family Pops II stars guest soloists Judy Hainsworth and Kynan Francis, and special guest narrator Spencer Howson (Breakfast Presenter Radio 612 ABC). Family Pops II is a great introduction to orchestral music for children, so if you missed Family Pops on a Sunday in March make sure you bring your young ones for a chance to relax and enjoy the sounds of popular family favourites. The program will take the audience on a journey into the make-believe with music from The Lion King, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Prince of Egypt and The Polar Express, before taking them on a rollercoaster ride through the movie scores of Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkabar; The Pirates of the Caribbean, Hairspray and the runaway Disney hit, High School Musical. The highlight of the program is an uplifting narration by Spencer Howson (Radio 612ABC) of the charming children's story Babar the Elephant. Come on the journey with Spencer as Babar the Elephant watches over his kingdom and his family. Family Pops II will have you singing along and dancing in your seats; the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon with your loved ones.
