Fitzsimmons Consistent with the operating agreement with the City of Des Moines, the Board SECRETARY & TREASURER of Directors of the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation (GDMPAF) Ted M. Stuart reviewed on 19 December 2019 a proposed public art project to be located along the 6th Avenue - which is part of a1.2 mile streetscape project extending AT-LARGE MEMBERS from the Des Moines River Bridge south to Interstate 235. The proposed public Pamela Bass-Bookey art project was created by contemporary artist Sheena Rose specifically for the 6th Mary Louise Chapman, ED. D Avenue Corridor (6AC) district, in close collaboration with DART and GDMPAF. Paula J. Feltner Lois Fingerman Through a public art process, the artist was selected to create a series of unique Jeff Fleming Harriet "Rusty" Hubbell designs to be digitally embedded into the glass panels of each DART bus shelter Martha Graham James, Ph. D. along 6AC. This series of designs will create a collection with a common theme, DaleJansen subject or inspiration to stitch together a visual identity for transit in this Darren R.Jirsa,DDS neighborhood. Each of the seven (7) designs will be repeated once and a total of Ardia Eleanor Kelley fourteen (14) bus shelters will be installed in three phases. (See Attachment A) Khalid A. Khan, Assoc AIA John Krantz Celebrated artist Sheena Rose is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a BFA Honors Patricia J. McFarland degree, as well as a MFA from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Katherine M. Murphy Her multi-disciplinary practice includes drawings, paintings, performance art, and Gerald W. Patterson new media. The artist has been recognized by numerous international awards Anastasia Polydoran Kimberly Chauncey Shadur and artist's residencies. Her works of art have been exhibited in prestigious The Honorable Linda Westergaard exhibitions throughout the United States, as well as internationally in South America, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Asia. EMERITI BOARD Christine Hensley The GDMPAF, acting in its advisory capacity to the Des Moines City Council, has Kristi Lund Lazier reviewed the established guidelines and criteria forthe public art program in Paul Mankins considering this proposal. After careful consideration, the GDMPAF has determined/hatthe proposal is consistent with the standards of the public art EMERITUS IN MEMORIAM program a/d enthusiastically recommends that the City approve the installation.
