1. SCOPE OF WORK

17G In September 2017, the API 17G Task Group leadership changed. The new co-chairs are Gregg Walz (Anadarko Corp) and Mike Byrd (BP-Retired). The strategic objective of this Task Group is to deliver a suite of 17G documents (G, G1, G2, G3, & G4) which will meet industry needs for the majority of manufacturers and end users and obtain an “Affirmative” vote in the next ballot initiative. Primary focus is on the previous draft of 17G, 3rd Edition, with the intent to create a more concise and less prescriptive document in alignment with feedback from previous ballot comments. Specifically, all requirements in the 17G 3rd Edition Ballot Draft will be systematically reviewed and assessed using well-defined defined guidelines and will be accepted, rejected, or modified. These guidelines were established at a day long workshop which was well attended by representatives of companies that voted and commented on previous ballots. Comments from the previous ballot are also being reviewed and the results will be incorporated into the new document. This process was articulated in a Workgroup Terms of Reference and provided to all workgroup leaders and members. Approximately 2,600 “shall’s” and 1,000 comments will be reviewed. The eight workgroups are staffed with approximately 75 volunteers from industry and are co-lead with one operator representative and one manufacturer representative each. In addition, there is an Interface Team which is led by the 17G Co-Chairs. The purpose of the Interface Team is to: • provide guidance and direction to the workgroups during assessment and resolution of “shall” requirements and previous ballot comments. • ensure consistency in the work products • participate in the review of the working draft Upon completion of the comment and requirement resolution, a working draft will be created and reviewed. After review and updating of the working draft, the ballot draft will be created and sent to API for the balloting process. 17G1-17G5 Name Company Role Muff, Anthony Technip/FMC (Retired) Co-Chair, API 17G1 Stawaisz, Ray Chevron Energy Technology Co Co-Chair, API 17G1 Shell International Exploration Hess, Mike Chair, API 17G2 and Production Dziekonski, Mitch Altiss Technologies Chair, API 17G3 Crawford, Neil Oceaneering International, Inc Chair, API 17G4
