THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR CONDUCT OF ELECTION RULES, 1965 Notification SRO 133, dated 14th June, 1965, Law Department] [As Amended by SRO 391, dated 29.9.2014] In exercise of the powers conferredCONDUCT by section OF ELECTION 168C of theRULES, Jammu 1965 and Kashmir Representation of the People Act, 1957 and in supersession of the Jammu and Kashmir Representation of the People (Conduct of Elections and Election Petitions) Rules, 1957, the Government, after consulting the Election Commission, hereby makes the following rules, namely:- PART I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement (1) These rules may be called the Jammu and Kashmir ConductRule of 1 Election Rules, 1965. (2) They shall come into force at once. 2. Interpretation (1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,— Rule 2 (a) "Act" means the Jammu and Kashmir Representation of the People Act, 1957; (b) "ballot box" includes any box, bag or other receptacle used for the insertion of ballot paper by voters; 1[(bb) "counterfoil" means the counterfoil attached to a ballot paper printed under the provisions of these rules]; (c) "election by assembly members" means an election to the Legislative Council by the members of the Legislative Assembly; (d) "elector" in relation to an election by Assembly Members, means any person entitled to vote at that election; (e) "electoral roll" in relation to an election by Assembly Members, means the list maintained under section 154 by the Returning Officer for that election; 1 Inserted vide SRO-5 dated 8-1-1972. 186 Rule 2 CONDUCT OF -

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:— PART-I PRELIMINARY 1. This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. Short title. 5 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— Definitions. Degree College Billawar, District Kathua, (J&K) 184204 Abstract Numerous known or unknown plants play an important role in the lives of people and in a way to the economy of a nation. An attempt is made to bring to light some fodder trees of the area. Majority of the Angiospermous trees concerning the study are found in wild state. However, some of the common fodder trees like Acacia nilotica, Acacia catechu, Bauhinia variegata, Dalbergia sissoo, Dendrocalamus strictus, Leucaena leucocephala, Robinia pseudo-acacia and Terminalia bellirica etc. are also cultivated both by villagers and Govt. agencies like social forestry. The names of species given in the study are complete in all respects and attempt is made to give the valid names along with author citation and also supplemented by English, Hindi and vernacular names. Each plant species is supported by a brief description along with the place of occurrence and present status wherever necessary. Keywords Acorn ; fruit of the oak tree. Berry; a simple throughout succulent fruit and without a stone. Capsule; a dry dehiscent fruit like ladyfinger. Chartaceous; having the texture of writing paper; thin and flexible. It dealt with different factors influencing political empowerment in rural areas. Aspects like total electors, electors who casted votes and who did not cast votes in the last election, reasons cited by voters for casting votes in favour of a particular candidate/political party in the last election, reason-wise number of the sampled households some of whose members did not cast votes in the last election, number of the sampled households some of whose members had political affiliations, number of the sampled households whose members attended meetings of panchayat and participated in political campaigns, and number of the sampled households reporting if the elected representatives redressed their grievances were studied. www.ijcrt.org © 2021 IJCRT | Volume 9, Issue 2 February 2021 | ISSN: 2320-2882 Wild Edible Plant Resources of Tehsil Hiranagar, District Kathua, J &K, India Arjun Khajuria* Department of Botany, HNB Garhwal University, SRT Campus, Tehri Garhwal (Uttarakhand), India Abstract The present study was carried out to document the wild edible plant resources of tehsil Hiranagar (J and K). This investigation was based on the extensive field survey and discussion with local inhabitants during the years 2018-19. A total 50 wild edible plants species belonging to 45 genera and 35 families have been reported from the area. Cucurbitaceae, was the dominant family that represented by 5 taxa and Moraceae and Rutaceae were represented with 3 taxa each, Leguminose, Myrtaceae, Papilionaceae and Combretaceae were represented with 2 taxa each whereas rest 28 families have only one taxa. Trees were found the highest source of food and represented by 25 species followed by herbs (14 species), climbers (7 species) shrubs (3 species). Based on their edibility 17 plants species are being commonly used as fruit, 14 serve as vegetables, 6 species are used to make pickle, 3 species acts as flavouring agents (spices), 3 species are used to make special seasonal drinks, 2 species are used to make flavouring chaat and 2 species are used to make sweet while other three are used to make chutney. The area is rich in wild edible plant diversity and being threatened by the over exploitation by the local inhabitants. Thus, there is an urgent to conserve and manage these plant resources in their natural habitats by awaring the local peoples by training programmes and other activities. -

Its primary focus is on making the public health system fully functional at all levels. While detailing the functioning of the NRHM, the present planning process initiated in the State provides the entire framework for making the Public Health System fully functional and standardized upto the Indian Public Health Standards at all levels. In doing so, it emphasizes the need for communitisation of the Public Health System, improved financing and management of public health, human resource innovations, and a long-term financial commitment to enable the state and districts to undertake programmes aimed at achieving the Mission goals. National Rural Health Mission envisages the planning process to be participatory and decentralized starting with the Village. It seeks to empower the community by placing the health of the people in their own hands and determine the ways they would like to improve their health. This is the only way to ensure that health plans are local specific and need based. The State should facilitate the processes by providing enabling environment and required financial and technical support. NRHM was launched in April 2005 and is being implemented by the Department of Health and Medical Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The study of medico- religious plants was conducted to investigate the traditional medicinal knowledge of plants. Most of the area of the district is hilly and mountainous and the people, who live at such places are economically weak, are mostly dependent on the agriculture and the wild resources to cater their daily needs. A total of 25 medico-religious plants belonging to 21 families and 23 genera are listed in this paper. The botanical names, vernacular names, their respective family names, part of the plant used and their uses are indicated. Majority of the plants belong to herbs (13) followed by trees (10), whereas only 2 plant species belong to shrubs. The observations are based on local folklore and interview of various communities and tribes of the Kathua district. Therefore, the ethnobiological knowledge of people and listing of plants of particular region are important tools that help in understanding human environment interactions.
