The answer is that our League offers a very unique package of skills development, one-on- one Training and guaranteed game and practice time that is unequaled at this level. What does the CIJHL Guarantee? – Each CIJHL Team will carry a maximum of 3 Goaltenders each season – We will play 40 Regular Season Games. – 13 Guaranteed Regular Season Starts – 17-20 Regular Season Game Appearances – 1 Guaranteed Showcase Appearance in Front of NCAA, WHL, USHL, BCHL Scouts – 5 Weekly Team Practices (On Average) – 1 Weekly Goaltenders ONLY Practice on-ice with League Goaltender Coach – 3-4 Goalie Specific Off-Ice Training Sessions Weekly with League Goaltending Coach CIJHL Goaltender Benefits – Full Time Professional Goaltending Coach. The CIJHL has hired a full-time League Goaltending Coach and Coordinator. He will work with each Goalie Individually and at the team level to develop an individual developmental plan. He will conduct weekly Goalie On and Off Ice Sessions as well as attend one practice per week per team. The Goalie Coach will coordinate with each goalie’s Head Coach to ensure proper evaluation and progress. – NSTI Training Centre Goalie Training Zone – A Goalie Specific Synthetic-Ice Mini- Rink where Goalies can Train daily as part of their Off-Ice Program – Kuru Digital Goalie App – This state-of-the-Art European designed Goalie APP allows Goalies and Coaches to analyze real time data transmission. Data can be collected from multiple data input sources and archived for later use and player analysis. The collected data can also be published in real time to different media platforms. Essentially, this new technology will allow teams to assess a lot of innovative information on goaltender situational reactions and overall development. – Video Analysis – Games and Practices will be recorded with the versatile GoPro Recording System from behind the net for excellent coverage of the Goaltenders performance and to allow for the most effective Video Analysis. Features video resolutions up to 4K, 12MP photos up to 30 frames per second, built-in Wi-Fi, SuperView and Auto Low Light modes. – Video Analysis: XOS Thunder – The CIJHL will use the XOS Thunder Hockey HD Video Software Platform. XOS Thunder Hockey HD is the most widely used video editing software in hockey. Thunder gives staffs the ability to customize their reporting, multi-task their editing, filter stats down to video, and enhance video with post production. Other features include: – Interactive dynamic reporting – Immediately filter down stats to video – Multitask between games and edits – Tele-stration, text, zoom, and voiceover – Ongoing Skills Evaluations – The CIJHL Goalie and Team Coaching Staffs will conduct weekly player skill assessments, based upon their conduct at both practices and at each game. Players will get Monthly written Player Evaluations and a Player- Coach Meeting. Parents will also be provided a written assessment monthly as well as a concise telephone conference to discuss the Players’ progress and individual development. Goalie Coach quick bio: Santeri Hilli He is a third generation coach and 2nd generation goalie coach. It runs in the family! He is part of the staff that works with Pekka Rinne in summers. He’s been working with Pekke since the summer of 2011. The Finnish Goaltending Coaching Fraternity is quite close-nit and he gets to work closely with the top Finnish National Goalie coaches. For example, some of his working colleagues are: Hannu Nykvist Head of goalkeeper coaching at FIHA (Finnish Ice Hockey Federation), Ari Hilli goalie coach of Oulun Kärpät SM-Liiga (Finnish Elite League) and Markus Ketterer goalie coach of Jokerit Helsinki KHL. He has his bachelor degree in teaching and he is currently finishing his master degree in teaching. Technically, he has completed all of the Finnish Ice Hockey Federations Goaltender and Dryland Coaching Courses. He has worked as a coach at basically every level in Finland, from the U10 to the U20 Major Junior level with his pro experience at the Mestis level (AA Pro level equivalent). He also has been an assistant goaltending coach for Finland’s National Junior Program. Overall, his past player’s have moved on to play over 45 international games for Finnish National Junior Teams, as well as many pro games at the Mestis and SM-Liiga (Finnish Elite League) levels. Coaching experience: 2013-2014 - Goalie and video coach in Oulun Kärpät U-18 & U-16 2012-2013 - Goalie and video coach in Oulun Kärpät U-18, U-16 & U-15 2011-2012 - Goalie coach in K-Laser oulu Mestis (Pro AA Level) 2010-2011 - Goalie coach in Oulun Kärpät U-20 (Finnish Major Junior A League) 2008-2011 - Goalie coach Chief Coordinator for Oulu’s Kärpät entire Junior Organization 2007-2010 - Assistant goaltending instructor for Finland’s junior national team system in northern region 2006-2007 - Goalie coach coordinator for U10-U14 goalies in Oulu’s Kärpät organization 2005-2006 - Goalie coach coordinator for U10 to U13 goalies in Oulu’s Kärpät organization 2004-2005 - Goalie coach for U10-U11 goalies in Oulu’s Kärpät organization.

Thompson was originally hired to coach the Sound Tigers on June 28, 2011 and led the team to a division title in 2011-12 before being named assistant South Division coach of the Islanders for two seasons (2012-14). Prior to his time in Bridgeport, Thompson served as head coach of the Alaska Aces (ECHL) for two years (2009-11), winning the Kelly Cup Championship in 2011. During his two seasons as head coach in Alaska, Thompson amassed a record of 83- 50-11 and won the John Brophy Award as ECHL Coach of the Year in 2011 after leading the team to a record of 47-22-3. Thompson also served as a player/coach with the CHL’s Colorado Eagles in 2003-04 and was an assistant with the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen from 2005-09. Before joining the coaching ranks, Thompson enjoyed a 14-year professional playing career from 1991-2005, which included 121 NHL games and more than 900 professional contests. The Calgary, AB native was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round (39th overall) of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.

Mestis-seurojen asema suomalaisessa jääkiekkoyhteisössä seuratoimijoiden tulkitsemana. Liikuntatieteellinen tiedekunta, Jyväskylän yliopisto, liikunnan yhteiskuntatieteiden pro gradu -tutkielma, 129 s., 2 liitettä. Jääkiekko on Suomen suosituin urheilulaji, joka monilla mittareilla mitattuna menestyy nyt jopa paremmin kuin koskaan. On kuitenkin yksi huolenaihe, joka toistuu keskusteluissa kerta toisensa jälkeen: Mestiksen asema sarjajärjestelmässä, jossa SM-liigassa pelaa 15 joukkuetta eikä sarjaan voi nousta urheilullisin perustein karsintojen kautta. Monien laji-ihmisten mielestä tällainen sarjajärjestelmämalli ei tee hyvää suomalaiselle jääkiekolle. Mestiksen näivettymisestä ja seurojen huolestuttavasta tilasta on keskusteltu paljon mediassa, mutta akateemista tutkimusta ilmiöstä ei juuri ole tuotettu. Siksi aiheen tutkiminen on perusteltua. Mestiksen ja SM-liigan väliset karsinnat poistettiin kauden 2012–2013 jälkeen ja käyttöön otettiin niin kutsuttu lisenssimenettely. Seuraavien vuosien aikana SM-liiga laajentui 15 joukkueen sarjaksi. Mestiksen suurseurat Jukurit, KooKoo ja Sport nostettiin juuri lisenssimenettelyn turvin pääsarjaan. Karsintojen poistaminen ja kolmen suurseuran poistuminen on horjuttanut Mestiksen dynamiikkaa. Analyysin tukena on toiminut Liiga-organisaatioiden johtohenkilöille tehdyt teemahaastattelut. Tutkielmassa kotimaisen jääkiekko-organisaation liiketoimintaa on verrattu pohjoisamerikkalaisten NHL:n organisaatioiden liiketoimintamalliin ja on analysoitu niiden keskeisimpiä eroja, pohjoisamerikkalaisten urheiluorganisaatioiden liiketoimintamallia on tarkasteltu kirjallisuuden pohjalta, sekä neljän NHL-organisaation johtotehtävissä olleelle Brian Burkelle tehdyllä teemahaastattelulla.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Matthew Chmura June 22, 2019 617.624.1913 Brandon McNelis 857.241.8343 Travis Basciotta 617.459.6853 BRUINS MAKE FOUR SELECTIONS ON DAY 2 OF NHL ENTRY DRAFT VANCOUVER, BC - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, June 22, that the team has made the following selections on Day 2 of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft: forward Quinn Olson (3rd round, 92nd overall), defenseman Roman Bychkov (5th round, 154th overall), forward Matias Mantykivi (6th round, 185th overall) and forward Jake Schmaltz (7th round, 192nd overall). Olson spent the past two seasons with the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL). In 2018-19, the 18-year-old produced 20 goals and 46 assists for 66 points in 54 games. In the team’s postseason run, he scored five goals and notched 10 assists for 15 points in 13 games. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward tallied 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points in 59 games during the 2017-18 season. During the playoffs, Olson recorded 10 points in 15 games. In 2016-17, the Calgary, Alberta native skated in 30 games for Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL), accumulating 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. Olson is committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the 2020-21 season. Bychkov spent the past two seasons with Yaroslav Loko (MHL). In 2018-19, the 18-year-old produced two goals and 13 assists for 15 points and a plus-17 rating in 40 games. He also skated in three games for Yaroslavl Loko Junior (NMHL).
