Development Day 2020 22/58 Midland Was to be 16/17th May 2020. Moved from Braunstone to Masters 2020 Rugby. Decision needed as to whether we move to later in the year, stay as it is, or something else. Agreed that we can’t hold in May, as there is now not enough time to get it sorted. This is due to difficulties in acquiring a suitable venue. Agreed to go with later in the year and look at Rugby to see JC if we can have the pool on 12/13th Sept. Also ask if Coventry is available on the same dates. Discussed the issue of whether to split up the West and East and have two separate championships. Looked at whether this could be a workable option and agreed that this committee would like to make the change to having separate championships. As this is a proposal that JC needs to go to the Regional Board for agreement or otherwise, it was decided that it could not be implemented until 2021. Due to the need for the Joint Committee to confirm arrangements with the East and West Midlands committees and arrange facilities, the decisions regarding the 2020 Championships have given us considerable problems. We believe that in future, arrangements need to be agreed at a much earlier stage. Agreed to look at seeing if Coventry would be available in JC May 2021 (15/16 May 2021) Check if Bob Powell is available to do entries and results, for DF the Midland Champs this year in September. Depending where the Champs will be held, an AOE operator may be needed. 22/59 Inter-Counties 1st November 2020 at the New Pool Coventry. Will need to 2020 know in due course who will be taking part. On this basis, we are proud to offer a music lesson service (instrument and voice) as an addition to our core educational provision. For a number of years we have successfully worked in partnership with Solihull Music Service, which provides music lessons at Alderbrook for our students in a wide range of instruments and voice. We will make every effort to accommodate your child’s choice of instrument. Thirty-three lessons take place over the 3 school terms. Generally, more are provided in the Autumn due to the longer term. Students receive 20-minute individual lessons which take place during the school day and students are expected to make up any academic school work missed. A timetable is organised on a rota basis to ensure students do not miss the same academic lesson each week. However, please be aware that this is subject to demand for that particular instrument as the rota option is not always the case. A 6 week term timetable is posted on the Music Board just outside Malley Staff Room and in Mrs Rafferty’s Room A01 but we will also ensure that each student has their own copy together with a Music Card to assist them in being excused from their academic class.
