The five yearly festival of democracy has begun, with 2019 being the election year. The time has come when citizens of India will exercise their powers for the effective and smooth functioning of our democratic systems. The college student exercises her/his right to vote for the first time. It is a crucial stage where a first time voter needs to stay alert, and apply rational as well as intelligent thought in order to elect new representatives to the government. It is in the development and sharpening of this very intellect that the college, with its pedagogical practices, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities plays a significant role. Participation in the NCC, NSS, sports, academic, and cultural activities enables students to become responsible citizens committed to the task of nation building. PGDAV College is fully cognizant of its responsibility towards this goal, and offers its students numerous opportunities to hone their skills and enhance their creativity. Along with regular teaching, PGDAV is also a centre for IGNOU, SOL, and NCWEB classes. An institution which had humble beginnings in 1957 with 5 teachers from a tiny building in Paharganj is now a flourishing centre for learning with 158 faculty members; who bring laurels to the college each year with their academic achievements.
