91 MXS19227 BEACH DEFENCE, Modern World War II strongpoint, Bawdsey. A number of trenches are visible 635543 239632 TRENCH, in 1940 along with a stretch of barbed wire obstruction. By 1945 a EMPLACEMENT strongpoint is evident, three side of the enclosure being barbed wire whilst the eastern side is part of the stretch of beach scaffolding. The barbed wire has been removed by July 1948, however a hexagonal pillbox is visible this may have been camouflaged during the war.

It consisted of four gun emplacements with a substantial number of ancillary buildings, most of which appear to be Nissen huts.
