We are delighted that you will be joining us at The Manchester Conference Centre & Hotel. We hope that the information provided in this document will help you to get the most from the UKMi Practice Development Seminar. Please bring these instructions with you. Travel Details Manchester Conference Centre & Pendulum Hotel is set in the heart of Manchester only 5 minutes’ walk to Piccadilly Station and a short stroll to Canal Street, China Town & an array of theatre, shops and concert halls. By road: TO MANCHESTER FROM THE NORTH VIA M6 M61: Follow signs into M60. Leave at Exit 12 and join M602 . At end of Motorway, follow A57 MANCHESTER sign (Regent Road) for approx. 1 mile. Proceed under railway bridge, continuing into A57M (Mancunian Way). Continue on the A57M, take 2nd exit. Immediately fork right on slip road into Sackville Street. Following University sign Turn Left at the Hive Bar onto Charles Street for the multi-story car park – M1 7EN YORKSHIRE VIA M62/M60: Leave at Exit 17 signed Mcr CITY CENTRE and follow A56 towards Manchester for 4 miles (Bury New Road, becoming Gt. Ducie S.) Enter City under railway bridges and keep straight ahead, still on A56, into Deansgate. In ½ mile, after passing KENDALS store, left at traffic lights (sign UNIVERSITIES) into John Dalton St. and straight ahead at next lights into Princess St. in ½ mile, pass under railway bridge and immediately turn left at lights into Charles Street Multi-story car park – M1 7EN DERBYSHIRE VIA A6: Follow A6 signs towards Manchester City Centre until reaching the flyover junction with A57M. Continue on A6 and in 200 yards pass under railway bridge and turn left at traffic lights into Fairfield St. Pass Sackville Building on left in 200 yards and then turn left at the next lights into Sackville Street. Pass under railway bridge and turn right into Charles Street for Multi-Story car park – M1 7EN NORTH WALES & VIA M56 Follow MANCHESTER signs, past to end of and keep straight ahead into A5103 MANCHESTER for 4 miles. On reaching beneath road take 3rd exit following A57M signs to next roundabout; then 2nd exit up ramp to join A57M. Keep to nearside lane for 200 yards and leave at next exit signed UNIVERSITY. Immediately fork right on slip road, following UNIVERSITY sign. Turn left at Hive Bar into Charles St. for Multi- Story car park M1 7EN THE SOUTH & MIDLANDS VIA M6: Leave at Exit 19 and follow A556 MANCHESTER for 4 miles. Join M56 MANCHESTER at Roundabout and follow to end as for NORTH WALES & CHESTER MERSEYSIDE VIA M62 Leave at Exit 12 and join M602 MANCHESTER. At end of the motorway follow A57 as for THE NORTH. Cont’d… By rail: PICADILLY STATION – 5 min’s walk Head for escalators to the left of the concourse. Follow the signs for ‘TAXIS’. Immediately outside the station main entrance, turn right and cross Road, then cross Fairfield Street to the Bulls Head pub. Turn down Lower Pump Street and proceed under the railway arch (passing Echoes Nursery on your right). Turn right onto Altrincham Street and Continue to the security lodge. Turn left and you will see Pendulum Hotel and Manchester Conference Centre. OXFORD ROAD STATION – 5 min’s walk At the bottom of the station approach, cross over Oxford St. into Whitworth St. (to the right of the Palace Theatre). Turn right before the University’s Sackville St. Building and continue along Sackville St. Under the railway and the Pendulum Hotel and Manchester Conference Centre is on your right. VICTORIA STATION Take the MetroLink Tram to Piccadilly Rail Station. Exit to the street at platform level following signs for ‘Taxis’ and continue as for directions for PICCADILLY STATION. By air: MANCHESTER AIRPORT (9 miles – 20 min’s) Taxis can be arranged by contacting the hotel directly or by taxi pick up point at front of the Airport. By car follow directions NORTH WALES & CHESTER VIA M56. Car Parking The hotel has no onsite parking however parking is available round the corner on Charles Street, Manchester, M1 3BB. The car park is 3 minutes walking distance to the hotel / conference centre. Duration and Rates: Up to 3 hours...... £3.00 3-6 hours...... £5.00 6-10 hours...... £8.00 10 -24 hours ...... £10.00 Accommodation For those who have pre booked accommodation, bedrooms will be available for check-in from 2pm. All rooms are en suite and are fully air-conditioned and have; TV, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and fully equipped with towels and toiletries. Please vacate your room by 11am on your departure day. A luggage store is available in main reception. Registration at the UKMi Seminar Registration on Wednesday morning will take place in the Pendulum foyer. You must sign in on arrival to comply with the venues fire regulations. The registration desk will be open: 9:00am – 4.30pm. Refreshments will be available during registration. You need to bring your NHS or Company ID badge which must be worn throughout the day. This will help with security. It will also enable you to identify fellow delegates. Programme and Proceedings There will not be a printed version of the proceedings available at the event. The proceedings will be available on the UKMi website approximately a week before the event, for you to print your own copy and bring to the seminar.

Cont’d… Meeting Rooms The opening session will take place in the Pendulum Suite. The afternoon session will consist of 6 parallel Session which will run twice, the rooms are located close to the Pendulum suite. All refreshment breaks and lunches during the Seminar programme will take place in the Pioneer & Momentum Rooms Parallel Sessions When you registration to attend the seminar you will be asked to choose up to 3 sessions for the afternoon part of the program, please select 3 options and indicate preference 1, 2, 3. We will try to accommodate your preferences as much as possible, however, in the event of over-subscription places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Exhibition The exhibition will take place in the Pioneer Room and will be open from 9am. Please visit all the exhibitors’ stands which have been carefully selected to be of interest to MI staff. Posters Posters will be displayed in the Momentum Room and should be put onto the poster boards provided before the start of the seminar where they will be available for viewing before the opening session, during lunch and comfort breaks. Poster abstracts which have been submitted prior to the event for judging will be awarded at the end of the programme on Wednesday. The ‘Delegates choice’ poster winner judged by attending delegates is also available by searching for ‘Voxvote live’ on your mobile device and entering the 5 digit code found on all poster boards. No later than 11th September 2019. Administration  Both the evaluation form and the certificate of attendance will be electronic. The evaluation form will be available to complete via Survey Monkey, the link will be available via the UKMi website from 26th September 2019 and UKMi twitter page. Once you have completed your evaluation, your certificate of attendance will be issued (provided you supply a valid email address to send it to).  Remember to switch your mobile phone off during sessions.  The UKMi Seminar Admin team will be happy to help you with any queries you may have.
