NOTICE OF RACE
1 ELIGIBILITY
The regatta shall be conducted for the following classes:
INVITED CLASSES 1. Sabre Class 2. NS14 Class 3. B14 Class
2 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Saturday, 30th November 2013 Welcome and briefing 1100 Invited Classes (Sabre, NS14 & B14) (Races 1 to 4 commencing) 1300 BBQ TEA After racing ~ 1800
Sunday, 1st December 2013 Invited Classes (Sabre, NS14 & B14) (Races 5 to 8 commencing) 1200 Presentation As soon as possible after racing ~ 1700
3 ENTRY AND FEES
Eligible boats may enter on the attached entry form to be lodged with the Organizing Authority by: Friday 29th November 2013 with the required entry fee. Late entries will be accepted up till 10:30am on Saturday 30th November.
The entry fees for the regatta are: Invited Classes: $40 4 RULES
The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the YA, class rules (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and by the sailing instructions.
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions for Invited Classes will be available from the Midway Point Yacht Club web page, from 29th November or at the briefing to be held at 1100 on Saturday 30th November.
1 6 RACING AREA AND COURSES
Racing will be conducted on Pittwater Bay in the vicinity of the Midway Point Yacht Club.
The course configurations to be sailed will be specified in the Sailing Instructions.
7 SCORING
The Low Point scoring system, Appendix A, will apply. The number of races to be discarded will be specified in the sailing instructions.
8 RESULTS AND HANDICAPS
Invited Classes: Results for the invited classes will be determined on a scratch basis.
11 SAFETY CATEGORIES
Invited Classes YA Addendum A-Part 2 as modified by class rules
12 PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded in all classes with the number of prizes dependent on the number of entries in the class. As a minimum it is expected that prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in each class. The presentation of prizes will be conducted as soon as practicable after the conclusion of racing on Sunday 1st December.
13 INDEMNITY
All those taking part in races conducted by the MPYC do so at their own risk and responsibility. The MPYC is not responsible for the seaworthiness of a yacht whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment. The MPYC is not responsible for any damage or injury, either ashore or at sea, to persons or yachts that might result from participating in races conducted by the Club. Attention is drawn to ISAF Fundamental Rules 3 and 4.
14 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $1,000,000 per event or equivalent.
