Fall Study Perspectives in Salvation History

The Book of Isaiah

Join us as we continue our study of Sacred Scripture and learn how our Catholic faith is enriched by immersing ourselves in the beauty and Truth of the origins of our Judeo-Christian religion through an historical and theological introduction to this all-important book of the Bible. Bridging God’s prophecies of a Messiah and Savior in the Hebrew Scriptures with ’s Revelation in the , Isaiah has influenced our , liturgy, sacred music, art, prayer, and all aspects of our church. Isaiah was an extraordinary prophet and man of God, and his message of condemnation, repentance, and comfort after judgement form the basis of this luminous drama of salvation history as seen through the eyes of an amazing theologian and poet. We will discover why our liturgical calendar is rich with readings from Isaiah throughout the entire year. Our study format will be classroom style and we will be reading from the texts each week, followed by analysis and interpretation using resource material from a number of Catholic study guides.
