Every four years the established media bombard the airways with their propaganda of just how close the presidential race is and how critical it is that the voters choose between the lesser of two politicians. They are at the same game again this year. What they carefully avoid saying is that it is not the popular vote that elects the president, but rather the electoral vote. According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, a full 55% of registered votes are not pleased with one or both of the two major party candidates. I would guess that may be an all time high record.

It is therefore very critical that this year’s voters make clear to the established parties that they don’t fall for their game. Until the elite of the established parties get that message they will continue to nominate mediocre candidates. The most effective way to make our voice heard is to not vote for either of them, but for the candidate that really stands for something.

Let me explain. According to a very recent Rasmussen Poll, the red states with a total of only 196 electoral votes are considered safe or leaning toward Romney. These states tend to have a higher voter turn out than the more populated states and hence the popular vote tends to be closer. The blue states generally with large populations and a total of 243 electoral votes are considered safe or leaning toward Obama. The purple states are considered toss up states and they have a total of 99 electoral votes. All but one of those states voted for Obama in 2008, and if Obama carried just the state of Florida it would put him over the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the election. Romney could carry all of the remaining seven states and still lose the election. The odds of that happening are very slim indeed. He is not expected to carry his home state of Michigan nor Massachusetts where he was governor. Furthermore, it is reported that he is pulling his ads from both MI and PA since they are expected to go for Obama.

In view of this it just makes good common sense for those voters in either safe Romney or safe Obama states who consider Romney or Obama to be the lesser of the two evils to simply vote for Virgil Goode. A vote for either the winner or the loser in those states is simply not a well thought-out vote. Intelligent and wise voting in this regard would send an earth shaking message to the established parties that the voters have caught on to their game of manipulating voters. But more importantly, the voters can sleep at night knowing their conscience is free of guilt and that they have cast a vote for liberty that will be heard loud and clear. In the coming weeks, I ask that each of you give this approach your serious consideration and then share those thoughts with people that are very important to you.
