Cockchafer, Melolonthidae, Amphimallon, cladistic systematics, species-group, new species, synonymy Abstract. A phylogeny of fifty-eight cockchafer species belonging to the genus Amphimallon Berthold, 1827 is proposed, based on sixty-five morphological characters. The cladistic analysis provides seventy-two equally parsimonious trees. The genus Amphi mallon is redefined and species-groups are introduced and defined: A. pini-group (seven species), A. vernale-group (five species), A. solstitiale-group (seven species), A. arianae-group (two species), A. peropacum-group (one species), A. fuscum-group (eleven spe cies), A. naceyroi-group (seven species), A. majale group (five species), A. lusitanicum-group (six species). Other species previously placed in Amphimallon are considered species incertae sedis in this paper: amphibolum Peyerimhoff, 1949, and a monophyletic group composed of six North African species: altifrons Baraud, 1971, julieni Baraud, 1972, melillanum Baraud, 1972, scutellare Lucas, 1846, subcristatum Fairmaire, 1879,subparallelum Escalera, 1913. Four new Amphimallon species are described: A. adanense sp. n. from Turkey, A. maniense sp. n. from Greece, A. jeannae sp. n. and A. safiense sp. n. from Morocco. The following taxonomic conclusions are proposed: A. seidlitzi Brenske, 1891 =A. trisinuatum Reitter, 1902 syn. n.; Amphimallon jeannei (Baraud, 1971) comb, n.; Miltotrogus caucasiens Gyllenhal, 1817 comb, ii.; Amphimallon vernale (Brulle, 1832) stat. n.; A. furvum (Germar, 1817) stat. n.;A.javeti Stierlin, 1864 stat. n. Studii şi Comunicări, Compl. Muz. Şt. Nat. „Ion Borcea” Bacău, vol. 21: 274-279. For studying the crepuscular and nocturnal scarabeoid fauna from the meadow of Siret River area, the author analyzed 323 scarab beetles. The insects were collected in 2004-2006, with the help of a lighting trap. Systematically speaking, the 323 specimens belong to 4 families, 6 subfamilies: Geotrupidae (Bolboceratinae, Geotrupinae), Ochodaeidae (Ochodaeinae), Trogidae, Scarabaeidae (Scarabaeinae, Aphodiinae, Melolonthinae), 14 genera and 19 species. According to the sinecological analyze realized for the 19 species collected in this area, Oxyomus sylvestris Scop., Melolontha melolontha L. and Aphodius (Acanthobodilus) immundus Creutzer are the eudominant species; Geotrupes spiniger Marsh. is the only dominant species. For the studied area, Oxyomus sylvestris Scop., Melolontha melolontha L., Aphodius (Acanthobodilus) immundus Creutzer, Geotrupes spiniger Marsh. and Pleurophorus caesus Creutzer are the characteristic species. The other 14 species are accessories. Studying the cenotic affinities between the species, the results indicate that the highest affinity is between Copris lunaris L. and Pleurophorus caesus Creutzer – 96%. Other groups of species are represented by: Ochodaeus chrysomeloides Schrank – Odontaeus armiger Scop. (92%); Aphodius (Acanthobodilus) immundus Creutzer – Geotrupes spiniger Marsh. (89%); Aphodius (Calamosternus) granarius L.

Összefoglalás. Érd egyik legértékesebb természeti területe, a Fundoklia-völgy gazdag ízeltlábú fau- nával rendelkezik, közöttük számos ritka és védett fajjal. A szárazgyepek dominálta védett terület fő- leg gyeplakó fajoknak ad otthont, emellett azonban fontos élőhelyfolt a völgy alján húzódó üde erdő- maradvány is, mely az utóbbi időszak káros hatásai miatt elszegényedett faunát tud csak eltartani. A terület faunisztikai szempontból alig feltárt. 2013–2014-ben ezért felméréseket végeztünk az egyenes- szárnyú rovarok (Orthoptera) és a bogarak (Coleoptera), azon belül lemezescsápúak (Scarabaeoidea), valamint a cincérfélék (Cerambycidae) körében. A területen összesen 30 Orthoptera, 45 Scarabaeo- idea és 30 Cerambycidae fajt észleltünk, köztük számos természetvédelmi szempontból értékes, álta- lánosan ritkább vagy faunisztikailag érdekes fajt is, mint például a Saga pedo, az Euchorthippus pulvinatus, a Celes variabilis, a Protaetia ungarica, a Clorophorus ungaricus és a Musaria argus. A terület faunája jelenleg gazdag, de mivel számos környezeti veszély terheli, a jelenleginél hatásosabb természetvédelmi kezelést igényelne. Kulcsszavak: bogarak, egyenesszárnyú rovarok, Budai-hegység, fajlista, védettség. Bevezetés A Budapestet körülvevő agglomerációs övezetben, bár a természetközeli élőhelyek igen nagy változatosságban vannak jelen és a térség az ország egyik leggazdagabb élővilágú ré- sze, az intenzív emberi jelenlét negatív hatása egyre jelentősebb napjainkban. Különösen igaz ez a települések közvetlen közelében megtalálható természeti területek esetében, ami- lyen az Érd határában fekvő Fundoklia-völgy és környezete is.

Biodiversity of Western Rhodopes (Bulgaria and Greece) II. Pensoft & Nat. Mus. Natur. Hist., Sofia, 237-265. Abstract. The species of the superfamily Scarabaeoidea from the Bulgarian part of the Western Rhodopes has been studied. The study is based on a critical review of the litera- ture, revision of the material kept in the Institute of Zoology of Sofia, and newly collected material. A total of, 153 species are cited. The species are divided in three groups. The first group includes 138 species belonging to the families Lucanidae (4), Trogidae (1), Bolbo- ceratidae (1), Geotrupidae (7), Ochodaeidae (2), Glaphyridae (1), Aphodiidae (47), Scara- baeidae (26), Melolonthidae (24), Rutelidae (10), Dynastidae (3) and Cetoniidae (12). These species are considered as reliable records for the region; 17 of them are first cited for the Western Rhodopes, Aphodius (Chilothorax) conspurcatus (Linnaeus, 1758) being a new species for the Bulgarian fauna. A second group comprises 12 species which have not been cited with exact records or which probably concern misidentifications; their occurrence in the region remains in question. The third group put aside Lethrus elephas, Blitopertha lineata and Mimela junii, cited in the past, but which actually do not live in Bulgaria.
