SOCIO ECONOMIC PROFILE : JAGATSINGHPUR 1. Location : Jagatsinghpur district is one of the coastally .located districts in Odisha It lies between 86o 3’ to 86o45’ East longitude and between 19o58’ to 20o23’ North latitude. It is bounded by the Kendrapara district in north, Puri district in south, Bay of Bengal in the east and Cuttack district in the west. 2. Climate : The climate condition of the district is generally hot with high humidity during April and June to cold during December to January.. The monsoon generally breaks during the month of July. Average annual rainfall of the district was 1320.7 m.m in 2011 which is less than the normal rainfall ( 1514.5 m.m ). 3. Area and Population : The district has an area of 1668 sq.kms and 11.37 lakhs of population as per 2011 census. The district accounts for 1.07. percent of the states territory and shares 2.71 percent of the states population. The density of population of the district is 682 per sq. kms. As against 270 person per sq.km of the state. It has 1288 villages (including 61 . un-inhabited villages) covering 8 blocks, 8 Tahasils and 1 Subdivisions. As per 2011 census the schedule caste population is 248152 (21.80%) and schedule tribe population 7862 (0.70%)of the district . The literacy percentage of the district covers 86.60 against 72.90 of the state. 4. Agriculture : During the year 2010-11, the net area sown was 91 thousand hectares against 5421 thousand hectares of the state. The production of paddy was 2074061 quintals, 159700. -

Orissa Review (Census Special) JAGATSINGHPUR DISTRICT jungle. The second tract covers fertile plain land. The soil is of alluvial type. The district of Jagatsinghpur is one of the new created districts carved out of the old Cuttack district. It has a population of 10 lakh of which Jagatsinghpur district was carved out from the 50.95 percent are males and 49.05 percent undivided district of Cuttack vide Gazette females. The area of the district is 1668 sq. Km Notification No.DRC-44/93R-14218 dated and thus density is 634 per sq.km. The population 27.3.1993 of Government of Orissa. growth is 1.31 annually averaged over the decade Jagatsinghpur became a sub-division of Cuttack of 1991-2001. Urban population of the district district in the year 1965 and was declared a constitute 9.88 percent of total population. The district in the year1993 catering to the needs of Scheduled Caste population is 21.05 percent of the area. It is situated in the south-eastern part of total population and major caste group are Bauri the undivided Cuttack district sharing the fertile (32.89), Kandra etc. (20.73) and Dewar (18.06 land and the most important natural port, Paradip percent) among the Scheduled Castes. INDIAN FARMERS FERTILISER COOPERATIVE LTD PARADEEP UNIT PREQUALIFICATION OF VENDORS FOR SUPPLY OF CARBON BLACK IFFCO, a true cooperative, of the farmers, by the farmers and for the farmers is the largest producer and marketer of Nitrogenous, Phosphatic and Potassic Fertilsers in India. Presently, there is a requirement of 1000 MT (approx.) of Carbon Black per year for IFFCO for the production of black coloured fertilizer. Applications are invited for prequalification of vendors who are capable of supplying Carbon Black. Prequalification Criteria: Interested parties shall submit their application along with their offer for supply of a sample of 3-5 MT of the material on FOR Site, IFFCO Paradeep basis along with the following documents to G.M(Materials), Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited, Dist : Jagatsinghpur, Paradeep - 754142 Odisha State, duly super scribed “Supply of Carbon Black” within 21 days of this publication. The details/ documents required to be furnished along with the application are (i) experience & past performance of similar supply (submit copy of purchase orders executed). (ii) capability with respect to supply of material as per IFFCO’s requirement (iii) financial position with copies of balance sheets for last 03 years. (iv) Bank Solvency Certificate for minimum of Rs. 3 Crores. (v) PAN / GSTIN Regn. etc. Carbon Black Specifications: 1. The specifications shall be as below. S. No. Parameter Specifications 1 Ash Less than 5% 2 Moisture Less than 10 % 3 Bulk Density 0.18 gm/cc max. 2. The Carbon Black should be a quality product in powder form with free flow at room/ambient temperature. Inspection: Parties, whose applications are accepted shall be contacted for supply of the sample of 3- 5 MT for trial use in plant.
