Opening Keynote Speaker - Bret Piatt, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board, Jungle Disk

In 2015, Bret founded Porthcawl Holdings along with Huw Edwards. Together they raised an equity fund to invest in technology businesses. In 2016, Porthcawl purchased Jungle Disk, which Bret leads as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In 2020, Porthcawl launched its third business, Modern Managed IT, where Bret serves as the Chair of the Board. Prior to the activities with Porthcawl, he led a $100M+ revenue, 300+ person SaaS business unit for Rackspace, serving over 75,000 small businesses. Earlier in his career, he had the opportunity to lead the AT&T Managed Premises Firewall business, help create OpenStack, and lead several successful acquisitions on the Corporate Development team at Rackspace. Outside of the office, Bret enjoys a good meal, live music, and his family. He is also actively helping transform into a technology leader through community involvement with TechBloc, LaunchSA, CAST Tech, and other outreach activities.

Closing Keynote Speaker - Jim Perschbach, CEO, Port San Antonio, OLLU Board of Trustees

Jim Perschbach is President and CEO of Port San Antonio. Perschbach joined the Port in 2014 as the organization’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, leading a team that provides strategic support to grow advanced industries on the 1,900-acre campus, including aerospace, cybersecurity, defense, manufacturing and global logistics. He assumed the role of President & CEO in June 2018.

Previously, he worked as an attorney in private practice with one of the nation’s largest law firms. There he counseled clients in industries, including aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and advanced manufacturing. He is a past chair of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Aerospace Committee and the Alamo Academies, a nationally-renowned program within Alamo Colleges that has prepared hundreds of young people for careers in aerospace, cybersecurity, manufacturing and other advanced fields. He is also past chair of Alamo Colleges’ Scobee Education Center / Challenger Learning Center.

Mr. Perschbach holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from The George Washington University and earned his law degree from The University of Houston Law Center.

Session I: Accounting

Jose L. Alvarez, (BBA 2016), assurance senior, BDO USA, LLP Born in Torreon, Mexico and raised in San Antonio, , Jose is a first-generation college student. After graduating from OLLU, he obtained his MBA in Finance from UTSA. Jose began working at BDO USA, LLP in 2016 as an Assurance Intern and is now an Experienced Assurance Senior, leading engagement teams to plan, execute and complete financial statement audits of private companies across various industries: not-for-profits, governmental, EBP, manufacturing, distribution, hospitality and real estate.

Ann Eller, (MS 2016), director of external reporting at USAA Ann is the Director of External Reporting in the Chief Finance Office of USAA and leads a team responsible for the regulatory reporting for USAA’s property & casualty and life insurance companies in conformance with Statutory Accounting Principles. She joined USAA in 2008 through the CFO Financial Development Program and has been promoted to various positions throughout the Corporate Controller organization at USAA. Ann earned a BBA in Finance and Accounting and a Concentration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Accounting from Our Lady of the Lake University. Outside of work, she enjoys coastal adventures with her husband, Kris, and as a new mom, spending time with her daughter, Abigail.

Norma Lee Fraga, (BS 2013/MS 2014), senior internal auditor, USAA Norma is a Senior Auditor in Bank Audit Services focusing on audit and assurance activities for key processes within the bank. During her time at USAA, Norma has demonstrated her audit and banking acumen through serving as an auditor-in charge on multiple large and complex audit engagements. Prior to joining USAA in July 2017, Norma was an Assurance Senior for RSM (formally known as McGladrey & Pullen) for three years. While in public accounting, she obtained a diverse background leading audits in different areas, including financial services, construction, and MRD. Prior to public accounting, she interned at IBC Bank and State Farm. She enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Niko, and their two children (3-year-old twin, girls).

Session II: Finance

Eric Liberty, (MBA 2019), regional team leader orthopedics; Stryker Eric is a regional manager of an account specialist team. His team of 20, supports Orthopedics (Trauma and Joint Replacement) sales, shipping and billing for hospitals throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Prior to joining Stryker, Mr. Liberty worked for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. as the Team Leader of Credit Card, Branch Support and Fraud Claims for seven years.

Danann Smith, (MBA 2005), regional president, Robert Half Finance and Accounting Danann Smith is the regional vice president for Robert Half, the world’s first and largest specialized staffing firm. Danann oversees the recruiting and staffing operations for the Accountemps, OfficeTeam, Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Robert Half Management Resources divisions throughout the Central Texas offices. She joined the company in 2005 as a recruiting manager and has held various leadership roles, including division director, director of permanent placement services and vice president of North America. Danann attended the University of Houston and Our Lady of the Lake University, where she received her BBA and MBA. She also regularly volunteers at Star of Hope, an organization dedicated to helping homeless men, women and their children through educational programs that encourage positive life change.

Gisela Figueroa (PhD 2013), vice president of finance and administration, Texas Southmost College

Dr. Gisela E. Figueroa, a finance and higher education professional is currently serving as the Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Texas Southmost College.

Prior to coming to Texas Southmost College, Gisela spent over 15 years at Texas State Technical College (TSTC), where she most recently served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services. During her tenure at TSTC, Gisela also served in various positions at the Harlingen campus including Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services, Associate Vice President for Financial Services, Executive Director for Financial Services, Director of Accounting and Supervisor of Student Accounting. She was a key team member during the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaccreditation for TSTC Harlingen. She also provided valuable support for modeling activities that allowed TSTC to manage its consolidation to a single college operation.

Gisela, a long-time resident of Brownsville, Texas, earned both her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College. She also earned a Doctorate in Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in Leadership from Our Lady of the Lake University. Gisela holds a Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTPM) certification.

Married to Dr. Fernando Figueroa and has two kids Xavier A Figueroa (12) and Ethan A Figueroa (5).

Session III: Management

Isaac H. Alfaro, (BBA 2003/MBA 2009), senior business systems analyst, Rush Enterprise Co Isaac is employed at Rush Enterprises as a Sr. Business Systems Analyst. He is over a small group of business analysts and developers working to deliver systems that are utilized by business partners. He has transitioned from the financial industry working at USAA, Washington Mutual, to Wells Fargo as an analyst. He has also worked at the medical innovation with Acelity/KCI as a project manager. His role includes leading our development team and mt teammates in delivering modifications to the nationally adopted platforms and creation of custom applications to meet our business partner needs.

Jose G. Trevino, (MBA 2012), interim vice president of Generation Operations, CPS Energy Jose started career with CPS Energy in 2010, after serving nine years of active duty as an officer in the U.S. Navy in Power Generation, and served in various roles up to the management level. He transitioned to Energy Delivery Services in 2015 and served in various executive roles, including Mutual Assistance Coordinator for the Hurricane Matthew, Harvey, Irma and Maria events. He led the Customer Engineering section in Customer Engagement as Senior Director from 2018-2020 and most recently returned to Power Generation as the Interim Vice President of Generation Operations. Jose is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Old Dominion University and Our Lady of the Lake University and holds his Professional Engineering license.

Session IV: Leadership

Trisha Onochie Bramble, (PhD 2020), business analyst II at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD Dr. Trisha Onochie Bramble is an Our Lady of the Lake University Fall 2020 Leadership Studies graduate whose dissertation examined differences based on leader location in follower organizational commitment. She is an advocate for remote work options and believes her research findings will prove to be of value to business leaders who are assessing strategies for remote work. Trisha currently works as a Business Analyst for a behavioral healthcare organization in Houston, Texas. She is a driven and detailed professional who enjoys designing organizational and technological solutions to address business needs and challenges. With a reputation that often precedes her, Trisha is known for her natural ability to analyze complex problems and quickly identify potential solutions. In her spare time, Trisha enjoys volunteering and giving back to her community by donating her time at her local food pantry. Trisha is a member of the Human Capital Institute, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Global Institute of Organization Development Network. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she serves on the technology committee fulfilling responsibilities at both local and regional levels.

Mark Fischer, (PhD 2014), vice president, Schwab Technology Services Mark is responsible for leadership and oversight of Schwab’s software development tools, service management systems, and enterprise engineering capabilities. Mark is passionate about helping others optimize their personal and professional lives. Mark enjoys studying and applying leadership theory, ancient philosophy, and the modern sciences of self-improvement and mindfulness. Mark has been an IT Professional for 35+ years. Before joining Schwab, Mark held a variety of leadership roles at Capital Group Companies in San Antonio Texas and Los Angeles California: Application Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Service Management, and various Transformational Change Programs. Prior to Capital Group, Mark was Chief Architect for Shopping Experience at H.E.B. Grocery, Program Manager at S.A.I.C., and Senior Consultant at Digital Equipment Corporation. Mark received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma, an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University, and a Doctorate in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University. Mark is an avid Snowboarder and Spartan competitor.

Session V: Computer Information Systems and Security Department

Luis Forestier, (BS 2015/MS 2018), help desk and student hotline manager, Northside Independent School District Born in San Juan Puerto Rico, Luis has amassed extensive experience in the field of IT. Luis helped the largest bank in Puerto Rico resolve their Y2K issues. He has traveled throughout the Caribbean and Latin America for Hewlett-Packard resolving various technical issues. He also worked for companies like Dell and Unisys in Texas. Luis ran the PC Support team for OLLU, mentoring many students who now have made a career in Information Technology. He was then recruited to create a nationwide Service Desk for an international company; working with team members located in New York, Los Angeles, and San Antonio. Luis currently heads the Help Desk and Student Support Hotline teams for Northside ISD.

Nallely Rodriguez, (BS 2015), employment associate attorney, Monty & Ramirez, LLP Nallely I. Rodriguez is an Associate Attorney in Monty & Ramirez LLP’s labor and employment practice area. Nallely advises private and public employers on a multitude of employment issues, including COVID-19 workplace compliance, wage and hour laws, FMLA matters, Form I-9 compliance and audits, and employment policies. She also represents and advocates on behalf of employers in DOL and ICE investigations. Nallely is a first generation American and grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from the High School for Law and Justice, where her love for the law began. She attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and Security. While at Our Lady of the Lake, Nallely developed a passion for serving underrepresented communities and volunteer work. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Nallely worked at a small personal injury firm in north Houston to learn the ins and outs of a law office. Nallely obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2019. While studying at the Law Center, Nallely helped entrepreneurs form their businesses through UHLC’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic. Nallely also advocated for minorities through the Law Center’s Record Sealing Course, successfully arguing the sealing of her clients’ juvenile record sealing applications to the judges. Nallely hopes to continue her service to her community and passion for advocacy through advising employers as to their rights and obligations arising in the employment context.

Session I: Computer Information Systems and Security Department

John Ensminger, (BS 2003), executive vice president, chief technology officer, Broadway Bank. OLLU Board of Trustees A graduate of OLLU’s Weekend College program, John was an IT systems analyst at USAA while pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems (2003). Since then, he has climbed the career ladder successfully to become EVP and Chief Technology Officer for Broadway Bank in San Antonio, where he is responsible for all aspects of the bank’s information technology so critical to that industry. As a dedicated alumnus, John contributes his valuable time and expertise to his alma mater as a member of the OLLU Board of Trustees (2020-present). John’s wife Cambri is also an OLLU alumna “times two” with a BS in Computer Information Systems (2003) and a Master of Education (2007).

Raquel Moncado, (BA 1997, MBA 2006), director of instructional support, Digital Media and Technology Support Services, OLLU Raquel’s passion for computers started when she was eight. Although there were many who tried to discourage her, she was fortunate to have enthusiastic family support – including her mother’s efforts to ensure that funds were raised for Raquel’s school to purchase computers. Upon graduation with her bachelor’s degree, Raquel’s first position was at CACI International, which provides technology support for national security and government modernization. Her responsibilities there involved assisting small business owners incorporate multimedia into their presentations in order to work with the U.S. government. In 2001, Raquel returned to her alma mater to join the OLLU Information Technology Services department as an instructional technology specialist. She is currently the Director of User Support Services, overseeing classroom technology, helpdesk services, personal computer support technicians, software and hardware purchases, digital media, and the printer fleet on all three of the OLLU’s campuses. She specializes in redesigning learning spaces and multipurpose rooms to incorporate technology.

Raquel has contributed to the community by mentoring K-12 students and serving on the advisory board of St. John Berchmans Catholic School. With the help of her team, she has worked to repurpose computers for donation to various schools and organizations unable to purchase new computers. She and her husband, Joe (Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, 1996; Master of Business Administration in Electronic Commerce Management, 2006) have a 7-year-old daughter who is enrolled in a leadership and STEAM school. You will often find them working on engineering projects or art projects. Their daughter inspired Raquel to become a children’s book consultant because of their experiences attending virtual children’s book parties. This led to starting their children’s book consulting business, which has expanded and added a jewelry consulting business, and is a way to encourage her daughter to read, to be able to make online presentations and to learn about being a business professional.

Session II: Leadership

Paulette Gadison, (PhD 2016), Sr. IT Project Manager at MD Anderson Cancer Center Dr. Paulette D. Gadison is an accomplished leader, manager and project, program and portfolio manager with over 25 years of diverse professional experience in accounting, consulting services, management, project management and program management office and training. Her experience includes work with major domestic and multinational companies in varied industries ranging from academia, consulting, energy, financial, healthcare, utilities to waste management and environmental services. She is currently employed full-time at the premier cancer research institution in the world, MD Anderson Cancer Center, as a Senior Project Manager in Information Security. Additionally, she has taught undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in management, project management and leadership at the University of Houston, University of Houston-Downtown and Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Gadison received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the College of Business, an M.S. in Project Management from the College of Technology at University of Houston, Houston, Texas and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from the School of Business and Leadership at Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas. She completed the Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer Program at the School of Engineering and Applied Science of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. She is a Project Management Professional certified by the Project Management Institute, Inc. in 2002. Additional certifications she earned include Change Management from Prosci®, Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from The Quality Group. Dr. Gadison’s professional affiliations include Project Management Institute, Inc., PMI Houston Chapter, and Association of Change Management Professionals. Her other affiliations include Make It Matter, LLC and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Richard M. Rodriguez, (MBA/PhD 2020), Market IT Service Delivery Leader at Tenet Healthcare in Tucson, AZ Dr. Richard M. Rodriguez is the Market IT Service Delivery Leader at Tenet Healthcare in Tucson, Arizona. He is an established information technology professional with more than 18 years of knowledge and experience in the leadership of large, complex IT organizations in both healthcare and university settings. He strives to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of Information Technology Services within his organization. Richard received a Master of Science from Texas A&M University – Kingsville in 2004. In 2020 he completed his MBA and PhD at Our Lady of the Lake University – San Antonio.

Session III: Healthcare Management and Economics

Diana Quintanilla Schultz, (BA 1995), chief executive officer, Highland’s Rehabilitation Hospital Diana (Quintanilla) Schultz serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital in El Paso, Texas. As CEO, Schultz oversees the 41-bed hospital’s operational, strategic, and clinical leadership. She brings over 15 years of healthcare administration and leadership experience to Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital. Most recently, she completed an 80-bed acute psychiatric hospital start-up in Northwest El Paso. Prior to hospital leadership, Schultz spent years working with diverse populations in social services and human resources.

Schultz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.

Sandi J. Wolff, PhD, (MEd 2005), head of strategic relationships and membership, San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Dr. Sandi Wolff has contributed to the San Antonio community for over 30 years. She has worked in education, community and student relations, marketing, public affairs, non-profit education, business development, and governmental affairs. She has deep experience in working with small business, national corporations, non-profit, and government entities.

Dr. Wolff is the head of Strategic Relations and Membership for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She leads the efforts to develop the Chamber’s relationships in the community and grow membership to provide resources and advocacy for small business.

[Most recently, Dr. Wolff was the head of Strategic Relations for Catamount Constructors, a national general contractor specializing in high-performing and high-quality construction in the retail, industrial, healthcare, restaurant, senior living, and office industries. She has worked for over 15 years in education and over 20 years in corporate settings. Dr. Wolff was the Community Relations Director for Linebarger Attorneys at Law, and prior to that, the Governmental Affairs and Economic Development Manager at . She also served in non-profit education as the VP of Education for KLRN, San Antonio’s local PBS station.

Dr. Wolff holds a Texas Teaching Certificate in Secondary Technology. She has taught at Providence High School, Sam Houston High School, and served as Director of Students at St. Anthony Catholic High School.

Dr. Wolff is a board member for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, is the Vice Chair for the Texas A&M San Antonio Foundation Board and serves on the Hallmark University board. [Wolff served as the Economic Development Council Chair for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce for two years, and the St. Mary’s University Business School Advisory Council of Executives for seven years.] In 2014, Dr. Wolff was elected to the Board of Trustees for North East ISD, the 8th largest school district in Texas, where she served until 2017. She has also served as the District 2 appointee for San Antonio’s Historic Design and Review Commission, and on the foundation boards of Northside ISD and San Antonio ISD. Wolff earned her BBA in Marketing from St. Mary’s University, her MEd through Our Lady of the Lake University, and her PhD in Education and Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word.

Session IV: Marketing

Lorraine Pulido, (PhD 2010), communications manager, VIA Metropolitan Transit Lorena “Lorraine” Pulido, PhD, is the communications manager and public information officer for VIA Metropolitan Transit. She is part of the transit agency’s marketing and communications department, and oversees public relations initiatives and programs. She was formerly the public relations manager for the City of San Antonio’s Department of Communications and Public Affairs and MetroHealth. She is a bilingual public relations expert with more than 25 years of combined experience in the marketing, corporate, and non-profit industries. She has also been teaching as a part-time faculty member at local universities for 20 years.

Dr. Pulido has served as director of marketing and public relations for the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. She also owned her own PR consulting business, LPR Strategic Marketing and Public Relations. Her clients included the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, The St. Anthony Hotel, San Antonio National Bank, the SA Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Adelante U.S. Education Leadership Fund, and Spurs Sports & Entertainment.

Before opening her business, she was the director of marketing for CityView – a national company led by former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and San Antonio Mayor Henry G. Cisneros, PhD. She created and implemented the company’s national image, brand development, public relations, advertising, and corporate partnerships.

Previous to CityView, Dr. Pulido was director of communications for the Edgewood Independent School District, where she served as the spokesperson. Before joining EISD, she worked on public relations and marketing account services at several ad agencies, including Garcia360, where she worked with her mentor, veteran marketing guru Lionel Sosa. She supervised national accounts ranging from KB Home to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. She also worked as director of public affairs at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), and in corporate communications at the . Her media experience includes serving as a producer for San Antonio’s KSAT-TV and KVDA-TV, and as a reporter for La Prensa. Previously, she served as an intern for ABC’s “PrimeTime Live” with Diane Sawyer. In addition, she has taught communications, marketing, and journalism at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Our Lady of the Lake University, , and currently, Texas A&M University – San Antonio.

She was elected a trustee for the Board in December 2020 to represent district 4. She also serves as vice chair of the Brooks Authority Board of Trustees; vice chair of the Brooks Foundation (Brooks Gives Back); secretary for the Public Relations Society of America – San Antonio (PRSA-SA) chapter; an SA Association of Hispanic Journalists member; a Society of Professional Journalists’ “Gridiron Show” cast member; and a member of the Significant U advisory committee. She previously served on the boards of SAY Sí, SA Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the SA Hispanic Chamber’s Latina Leadership Institute Steering Committee, and the South SA Chamber - Southside First Economic Development Council. She is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio - Class of 2005, and the South Chamber’s City South Leadership Academy - Class of 2017.

Dr. Pulido has received 16 PRSA Awards throughout her career, and was selected the 2006 Public Relations Professional of the Year by PRSA-SA. In addition, her logo won a 2008 Gold Addy from the San Antonio Advertising Federation. She is Ivy-League educated with a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a PhD from Our Lady of the Lake University’s School of Business and Leadership Studies. She’s a proud magna cum laude graduate of Harlandale High School in San Antonio. She has a 33-year-old daughter, and a 17-year-old son.

Isidro Reyna, (BA 2006), senior communications specialist, NASA Isidro Reyna, APR, joined NASA Johnson Space Center's External Relations Office as a senior communications specialist in 2015. In this role, he manages executive communications for the center and serves as the agency’s Gateway Program public affairs officer in Houston.

Prior to his employment with the space agency, Isidro worked as the deputy chief of public affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, where he ensured the Public Affairs Office effectively communicated the district’s engineering mission strategically and transparently to a diverse group of internal and external audiences.

Prior to his employment with the district, Isidro worked as a public affairs specialist in the U.S. Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., and for the Army Operational Test Command Headquarters at Fort Hood, Texas, executing media relations, command information and community relations initiatives.

Previous to his employment with the federal government, he worked as a media relations specialist and account supervisor for a full-service public relations and advertising agency in San Antonio, ensuring marketing and public relations objectives were met for corporate and non-profit clients.

Isidro’s earned more than 50 communications awards during his career, including nine Silver Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and three Grand Excalibur Awards from the society's Houston Chapter.

Isidro was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts with a specialization in public relations from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2006 and became Accredited in Public Relations in 2011. He earned a Master of Arts in Communication with a concentration in public relations from the University of Houston's Jack J. Valenti School of Communication in 2016. He serves as the Valenti School Alumni Association's treasurer.

Isidro is a member of PRSA and is a past president of the Houston Chapter. He also serves as one of PRSA's representatives on the Universal Accreditation Board.

Session V: Computer Information Systems and Security Department

Zachary Adams, (BS 2015), information security analyst, Frost Bank Zachary Adams has been an Information Security Analyst at Frost Bank since October 2017. He assists in monitoring and securing Frost Bank's digital presence while working with multiple products at different layers of the security stack. He was born in San Antonio and graduated from Boerne High School in 2011. Later, he was accepted to Our Lady of the Lake University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems & Security in the spring of 2015. Since graduating Mr. Adams has earned multiple information security certifications, with the most recent being the CISSP certification in February 2020.
