Physical Features
Nutrition
On average they grow to 9 cm in length and weight about 12.3 g. The average wingspan is 23 cm, their tail accounts for most of their length. Their ears are close to their muzzle
and eyes which are wide and set apart
which helps them find prey using echolocation. Their wings are elongated with pointed tips, which make them quick for straight flight patterns. Their fur can be from dark brown to gray.
They are insectivores and they hunt their prey using echolocation. Their diet consists of moths, beetles, dragonflies, true bugs, and
ants. Their pollination of
sugarcane and their consumption of insects that damage that sugar canes are the reason some alcohol companies have the bats as their icon in their labels.
