The challengers took part in the 262ft abseil climbing down the UK’s tallest sculpture. Among the participants were two members of St Clare Hospice staff - chef Samantha Hegarty and inpatient unit nursing assistant Alison Boggas. Samantha, who has worked at the hospice since 2014, took part with her sister, Debbie. The pair have raised a combined total of over £1,500, smashing their target of £400. Samantha said: "Abseiling the Orbit was one of the scariest yet most incredible experiences of my life!
