INDONESIA POLITICAL OPINION SURVEI NASIONAL DAN KAJIAN OPINI PUBLIK; REFLEKSI PENANGANAN PANDEMI DAN DAMPAK KONSTELASI POLITIK 2024 Pengantar Lembaga riset sosial dan opini berbasis kajian akademik. Telah melakukan penelitian dalam bidang media, demokrasi, isu gender dan politik sejak tahun 2013. Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) dalam kemajuannya fokus pada riset sosial terkait politik dan opini publik. IPO berkantor pusat di Jl. Direktur Eksekutif Dr. Dedi Kurnia Syah Putra INDONESIA Metodologi POLITICAL OPINION Multistage random sampling (MRS) IPO terlebih dulu menentukan sejumlah Desa untuk menjadi sample, pada setiap desa terpilih akan dipilih secara acak –menggunakan random kish NASIONAL grid paper– sejumlah 5 rukun tetangga (RT), pada setiap RT dipilih 2 keluarga, dan setiap keluarga akan dipilih 1 responden dengan pembagian PROP 1 PROP K laki-laki untuk kuesioner bernomor ganjil, perempuan untuk bernomor genap, sehingga total responden laki-laki dan perempuan. Pada tiap-tiap proses pemilihan selalu menggunakan alat bantu berupa lembar acak. DS 1 … DS N DS 1 … DS M Metode ini memiliki pengukuran uji kesalahan (sampling error) 2.50 RT1 RT2 RT3 RT4 RT5 persen, dengan tingkat akurasi data 97 persen. Setting pengambilan sample menggunakan teknik multistage random sampling (MRS), atau pengambilan sample bertingkat. Survei ini mengambil representasi sample sejumlah 1200 responden yang tersebar proporsional secara nasional. Indonesia’s Regional Elections: Ditching the Direct Vote? By Dedi Dinarto SYNOPSIS Indonesia’s newly appointed Minister of Home Affairs has decisively called for a major review of the direct election of regional leaders. While this signals the ministry's growing clout, the institution is likely to involve active military and police officers to fill the impending vacuum in key regional leadership positions from 2022 to 2024. There are challenges ahead. COMMENTARY IN NOVEMBER 2019, the newly appointed Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian sparked a controversy when he proposed a review of the direct election system for regional leaders such as governors and mayors ahead of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections ( Pilkada Serentak ). Tito claimed that the local elections have proven to be a financial burden to the state. The country has also been prone to political instability, such as in Papua, with direct elections. Tito proposed to have regional heads appointed by the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), or regional parliaments. Leong / Filling in the Gaps 729 FILLING IN THE GAPS Remembering the 1965 Killings in Indonesia Kar-Yen Leong Tamkang University [email protected] Abstract After more than fifty years, Indonesia remains muted in its acknowledgement of the killings and disappearances of nearly one million suspected leftists in the anti-Communist pogroms of 1965. While the downfall of Indonesian strongman Suharto had opened up a larger space for democracy, the Indonesian state remains reticent in facing accusations of mass human rights violations that have taken place during his rule. Although many former dissidents and political detainees have come forward with their stories in an effort to “straighten history,” they continue to face harassment from right wing groups as well as the state’s intelligence apparatus. Nevertheless, with the advent of the Internet, human rights activists as well as historical “revisionists” have begun to use the cyber sphere as way to fill in the “gaps” in terms of Indonesia’s narrative concerning the killings of 1965. This paper investigates the dynamics behind the use of this medium in transmitting this dark episode to a younger generation of Indonesians. It looks specifically atIngat 1965, a website that utilizes “private memory” as a way to “resist” as well as reinvent the narrative, which has so long been dominated by the state. This paper also includes an investigation into how Indonesia is beginning to deal with its past. Jokowi in the first term of his administration echoed this vision as the identity of his foreign policy. However, in its implementation, there are various shortcomings. As a result, the vision did not work out well. Especially during his second election as president of Indonesia, Jokowi no longer mentioned GMF as a priority policy. This paper aims to analyze the causes of the failure to implement the GMF vision in Jokowi's first term as president. Several previous studies on GMF were divided into 3 major studies, namely security studies, international cooperation, then regional and geopolitical studies. Most of these studies discuss GMF Indonesia's vision only in the international scope, such as cooperation formed with other countries, its influence on the region, geopolitical implications, and on the perspective of threats and security. There is no research that specifically addresses the problems and challenges of the GMF. By the governmental and leadership approach in policy studies, this paper identifies the factors that have resulted in the GMF vision's lack of implementation. -

Melalui Keppres No 12 Tahun 2020, pemerintah Joko Widodo menetapkan status penyebaran COVID-19 sebagai Bencana Nasional. Gugus Tugas dibentuk untuk menanggulangi wabah ini, dengan susunan keanggotaan lintas Kementerian/Lembaga dan banyak melibatkan pakar. Tujuannya untuk mempercepat penanganan wabah COVID-19. • Penanganan yang dilakukan pemerintah terutama terkait dengan bidang kesehatan, baik kuratif maupun preventif, antara lain adalah program peningkatan kapasitas layanan kesehatan dan Pembatasan Sosial, mulai dari Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) di awal masa pandemi hingga Pemberlakukan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM) sampai saat ini. • Kemudian program vaksin secara nasional. Untuk menjamin kesuksesan pelaksanaannya, beberapa payung hukum ditandatangani oleh Presiden Joko Widodo. Pemerintah menargetkan program vaksinasi ini bisa tuntas dalam waktu 15 bulan kepada sekitar 181.5 juta penduduk Indonesia. City bows to pressure The Jakarta administration has decided to halt a National Monument (Monas) revitalization project in Central Jakarta after the public criticized it for cutting down hundreds of trees. “We agree with the City Council that the project must be stopped temporarily with all its consequences, until a letter of approval from the steering committee is given,” city secretary Saefullah told reporters after a coordination meeting with the council on Tuesday. The suspension of the Monas revitalization project on Wednesday was based on a recommendation by the City Council, which argued that halting the project was a “natural thing” because, aside from not having a permit, the project had cut down 20 trees. -

INDONESIA 2017 HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Indonesia is a multiparty democracy. In 2014 voters elected Joko Widodo (commonly known as Jokowi) as president. Domestic and international observers judged the 2014 legislative and presidential elections free and fair. Domestic and international observers judged local elections during 2017 for regional executives to be free and fair. Civilian authorities generally maintained control over security forces. The most significant human rights issues included: claims of arbitrary or unlawful killings by government security forces; torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment by police; harsh and life threatening conditions in prisons and detention centers; arbitrary detention by the government; detention of political prisoners; limits on the freedom of expression due to laws addressing treason, blasphemy, defamation, and decency; limits on freedom of association; official corruption and attempts by government elements to undermine efforts to prosecute corrupt officials; criminalization of same-sex sexual activities at the local level and violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) persons; and forced or compulsory labor. Impunity for serious human rights violations remained a concern. In certain cases, the courts meted out disparate and more severe punishment against civilians than government officials found guilty of the same crimes. Section 1. Arbitrary Deprivation of Life and Other Unlawful or Politically Motivated Killings During the year human rights groups and media reported that military and police personnel used excessive force during arrests, investigations, crowd control situations, and other operations. In these cases and other cases of alleged misconduct, police and the military frequently did not disclose the findings of internal investigations to the public or confirm whether such investigations occurred. -
